Ehhhh I think DMC5 Nero is still distinct but he’s shed a lot of his toxicity from DMC4. You can see him attempt Dante-isms but he doesn’t hit nearly as often (and I think that’s purposeful)

I personally don't like when a character is starting to feel like a carbon copy because if they gonna do that why even Create Nero

I personally felt the opposite way. That’s the interesting thing about the subjective consumption of media.

Elaborate why you feel this way

He completes an arc in 4, of self acceptance. In 5 he's having to cope with losing a part of himself, not being strong enough, needing to rely on others. After realizing what's important to him, he finds out the potential that was inside him the whole time.

Nero ended up maturing more in DMC5, which I love. Plus, Dante was a role model for him, so him gaining some of his traits isn't a bad thing

The Devil Bringer in 4 was peak too, it looks so unique, and bad ass.

I’m actually the opposite. I feel like Nero’s character got to flesh out a lot more. DMC4 he was largely just angry and mildly edgy, which was typical for that era of games but DMC5 made it feel like he’d grown out of that.

I feel like DMC5 Nero is still the same. Unlike Dante and Vergil, Nero is more accepting of his demonic heritage than Dante, and his need for power is fueled to protect, instead of it being self centered like Vergil. He, possibly, represents Sparda better than both of them.

You totally missed the point of his Character. DMC 5 is more of a Nero story and realizing he’s not a deathweight and a person of his own. These scene literally proves he doesn’t copied Dante at all and nonetheless he looks up to him
