Net Zero is not solving climate change - it is transferring emissions from Britain to elsewhere. If we shut down our industry but increasingly import products from countries that still use coal, we make global emissions worse.

Conservatives between 2010-2024 installed 91% of all installed wind and solar capacity, introduced six major renewable electricity investment support mechanisms and approved for development another 40GW of wind and solar

Net Zero? Theresa May enshrined it into UK legislation, then Johnson increased the target thereafter, don't you remember? The damage is already done....

You summed up net zero in one sentence better than most ever could. “Net Zero is not solving climate change, it is transferring emissions from Britain to elsewhere.”

NetZero is a scam by the same ruthless, ultra-rich criminals who bring us central banking, human trafficking, illegal arms and drugs trafficking, global migration, inflation, and climate engineering.

The faux concern for " Industry" from the party that deliberately deindustrialised UK to crush the Unions as Govt policy and put all of our future in tbe hands of The City Of London and "Services" is nauseating. PS Tory PM "Boozer" "Fuck Business" Brexit quote

But renewable energy does give us control over our own energy. More reliable prices for customers. Relying on oil nations has caused process to be volatile due to wars in Ukraine and Iran.

💯 read this recently ’the entire reduction in emissions emanating from the UK chemicals industry derives not from less polluting production, but from plant closures driven by uncompetitive energy prices.’ 🤷‍♂️

The Net Zero wealth transfer- another act of national betrayal by the Tories- never again.

But you oversaw 6 rounds of CfD for wind and solar power generation? What has suddenly changed your mind?

It’s not ignorance—the Net Zero fanatics are just plain malicious. They hide behind 'saving the planet' to destroy their own people and economy. The UK needs to ditch this boneheaded policy immediately.

All countries should have been required to eliminate CO2 emissions Instead China & developing countries were allowed to go on increasing emissions Our leaders were idiots We need international sanctions to force China to cut its emissions Once that’s achieved other noncooperating countries can be targeted #ClimateCrisis #Wildfires #HeatWaves #ChinaIsKillingUs

Blimey, she’s catching on. Now let’s go the full hog shall we and accept that it was Thatcher who exported industry abroad for so called economic benefit and then the economy-fruit-loops realised this helped the arguments for NetZero. I mean to be fair to the Greta zealots it was a sensible attachment, but let’s not sugar coat this darling, it was Tory policy, of course built with American pressure that did this. You may if you wish point out that British industry was on its knees thanks to the unions and maybe I’ll allow you to point the finger at Churchill signing the Atlantic Charter in 41, all valid, none changes the truth that British industry is gone.

Oh well, never mind. At least the Milibands made millions from the Climate Change Act which David fixed for his pal George Soros. He got a £1million Soros linked job and Tony Blair got Soros consultancy. 8 Soros pals were behind the CCA. Soros linked jobs followed for 6 pals!

Same with imported oil and gas. Enormous amounts of bunker oil used to push tankers and all ships through the water. Much greener to use our own resources.

Using your logic, can you explain why you insisted on leaving the EU and joining CPTPP, to prioritise importing and exporting with countries the other side of the world instead of your next door neighbours. Think of how much worse that makes global emissions 😱

You can't say you want to get rid of net zero then be concerned about global emissions.

That's a false argument, given that with very few exceptions, the whole world is on the path to decarbonisation.

SophiesWorld's profile picture

If that’s true (I’m willing to believe it, but opinions seem divided) just now, what DO YOU propose to try and achieve global net zero? Or if you are saying we should just leave things as they are for now, WHEN will you start to act?

Well you say that, but have a gander at what’s happening to China’s industry, now it’s switched to renewables & NOT switching on the built coal power stations ! @mnreindia @RenewableUK @RenewablesNews

@SeagerMJ I imagine they were saying the same thing at the end of the Stone Age when bronze came along. China, from where we buy our cheap goods, is reducing its emissions and by reducing the price of solar is helping others to do the same. How would YOU solve climate change?
