"Netanyahu has had a zeal about Iran developing nuclear weapons for the best part of two decades." The Israeli PM continues to warn of the "imminent threat" of an Iranian nuclear bomb - a warning he's been issuing with urgency since the 1990s. emily m | Lewis Goodall

@maitlis @lewis_goodall Iranian sympathisers. They aren’t in the know about when and how close Iran is to a nuclear bomb.

@maitlis @lewis_goodall Isreal has had nuclear weapons for years and not used them. If Iran get them on a Wednesday they will launch them on Thursday morning. Iran must never get nuclear weapons. Ever.

@maitlis @lewis_goodall I remember going to Tehran on oilfield visit back in the early 90's. I'll never forget that the hotel foyer entrance had American and Israeli flags on the floor for visitors to wipe their feet. So spare us the your one sided, limited experiences of the Middle East.

@lewis_goodall @maitlis Isn’t it a questionable strategy in the medium term to bet on being able to stop a country from developing a technological capability that already exists in numerous places across the world. by doing something that will make many people in that country implacable enemies.

@maitlis @lewis_goodall ‘Imminent’ for 30 years is real long-term thinking 😉

@maitlis @lewis_goodall a 'zeal'....😬

@maitlis @lewis_goodall Netanyahu dipping into the Goebbels play-book again…? ‘Keep repeating the lie’…

@maitlis @lewis_goodall He's absolutely right. What don't you numpties understand?:The evidence for Iran's malign intent couldn't be more bleeding obvious.

@maitlis @lewis_goodall I dunno… wild guess Iran using three proxies plus themselves to attack Israel committing terror atrocity war crimes and launching tens of thousands of missiles may have just pissed him off a little.
