We established a clear policy: the demilitarization of the area south of Damascus—from the Golan to the Druze Mountain region. That’s the first line. The second line—protecting the brothers of our brothers, the Druze in Jabal al-Druze. Both of these red lines were violated by the regime in Damascus. They sent troops south of Damascus, into the area that was supposed to remain demilitarized, and began massacring Druze. This was something we could not accept under any circumstances. So I instructed the IDF to act—and to act forcefully. The Air Force struck both the death squads and armored vehicles. I added another target: to strike Syria’s Ministry of Defense in Damascus. As a result of this powerful action, a ceasefire was reached, and Syrian forces retreated back to Damascus. This is important. It was a ceasefire achieved through strength—not by requests or pleas, but through strength. We achieve peace through strength, calm through strength, security through strength—on seven fronts. This will remain our policy: we will not allow military forces to move south of Damascus, and we will not allow harm to come to the Druze in Jabal al-Druze”
