Can I just respectfully say how happy I am that this completely blew up in the media’s face. They tried so hard to bring Eunwoo down, while fans were staying up late researching Korean law, working tirelessly to defend his name and correct misinformation. And yet, The WONDERfools released on Netflix exactly as planned with no delays, and the response has been incredible. The drama is being praised everywhere, receiving amazing reviews and so much love from viewers around the world. People are genuinely enjoying the series, even with Eunwoo currently serving in the military and unable to promote it himself. What makes me happiest is seeing his acting finally get the recognition it has always deserved. He’s gaining new fans every single day because people see his talent, hard work, and heart for themselves. Reading with your baby isn’t always as simple as it might seem. Earlier this week, a parent asked how I’d advise reading to a toddler who may not have the attention span for a full book and who, when handling them, often tears the pages. I’m so glad you asked! This fantastic video, shared to TT a couple years back by hanzcakess, illustrates both the realities of - and several important lessons for - parents and caregivers when it comes to reading with infants and toddlers. First, when reading with very young children it’s important to begin with realistic expectations. At this little guy’s age (which I’m going to guess is around a year, give or take 2 months) babies‘ attention spans are VERY limited. Think 1-2 minutes tops. What does that mean for you? First it means that you’re unlikely to make it through an entire book. And that’s just fine. Rest assured that there’s still great value in the activity. Further, don’t be surprised if your child is more interested in interacting with (or at the earliest stages, even chewing on) the book itself rather than attending to the story it contains. That’s ok too. For both reasons, beginning with sturdy, laminated board books is well advised. Not only do these tend to be super short (with most intended to accommodate for babies’ brief attention spans), but they’re made to withstand the rigors of handling by infants and toddlers. Now, some might look at this video and (on first glance, at least) see primarily inattention. But not me! Here’s what I see: First, I see a completely normal toddler who’s already putting some really impressive book knowledge on display. Notice he’s advancing front to back and left to right as he turns pages sequentially. They’ve done this often. Also want to shout out what a truly fantastic job Dad is doing here. Notice that he’s totally letting his son dictate the terms the activity. He’s not insistent on completing the text, but goes with the flow as his son turns the pages. As the pages turn he’s helping to illustrate that the print on each one contains a unique message. And he’s singing the text! Brown Bear is a great book for this and many board books lend themselves particularly well here. Your baby isn’t judging your singing voice. Kudos on making the experience engaging. In light of all the above, don’t be afraid to stray from the text altogether as needed and use this time to simply engage in conversation about the pictures and introduce some new vocabulary. Finally, while lap reading is fantastic, at this age you may also find benefit in reading face to face, allowing your child to tune into your expressions alongside the book. Remember, there’s nothing your baby loves seeing more than you. Rest assured this stage doesn’t last forever. You’ll be snuggling up for longer sessions in no time. And while we’re on the topic of reading, I want to give a special shout out to my friends at Reach Out and Read, which is a fantastic program you may know from distributing books and sharing advice like this via your pediatrician’s office. I feel like the kdrama Spring Fever isn’t getting the hype it truly deserves and that’s honestly a little sad. From the very first episode, this drama surprises you: it’s not the flashy rom com that grabs headlines, but it slowly, beautifully grows on you, like spring sun warming your shoulders after a long winter. Spring Fever follows Yoon Bom (Lee Joo‑bin), a former Seoul woman whose heart has been bruised and self‑protected so tightly that she hardly smiles anymore. She takes a job teaching in the quiet seaside town of Sinsu, hoping to disappear into the routine of chalkboards and lesson plans. But life doesn’t stay quiet for long when Seon Jae‑gyu (Ahn Bo‑hyun)walks in loud, bold, unpredictable, and deeply warm underneath his rugged exterior. What makes this show special isn’t wild plot twists or dramatic betrayals. It’s the gentle unravelling of two people who have been taught not to trust their own happiness. The romance doesn’t explode it melts. You get to watch Bom’s walls crack piece by piece as Jae‑gyu’s silly confidence and heartfelt sincerity keep poking through, making you root for them not because they’re dramatic but because they feel real. And the world they build? It’s not just two people falling in love it’s a whole village humming with life. The side characters aren’t background noise; the everyday chaos of smalltown life. Their laughs, their missteps, and their quiet moments add an emotional richness that bigger, flashier dramas often miss. You don’t binge Spring Fever for viral scenes. You binge it for that moment when a smile really a smile finally reaches Bom’s eyes. You watch for the way Jae‑gyu’s tough exterior hides a heart that loves fiercely, gently, and without apology. You feel it in the way the show blends humor and heartbreak, laughter and longing, softness and strength. And yet because it’s not loud, dramatic,it’s not getting talked about. The best romances aren’t the ones that explode they’re the ones that slowly, softly, and beautifully grow into your heart. Because President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud refused to listen to Somalis, abide by his constitutional mandate, and respect the country’s agreed political settlement, the international community is now telling him to stop acting recklessly. See the attached videos. Those in government — and those outside it — who used to cheer him on and tell him, “Dear Leader, you are on the right track,” should be ashamed of themselves. The first video is from today’s African Union Somalia mission troop-contributing countries presser. They openly acknowledge that Somalia has a serious political problem and make it clear that President HSM must sit down with the opposition and solve the disagreement. They also state that these countries will serve as observers. The second video, released by the U.S. Embassy, features the senior U.S. general responsible for the Horn of Africa, who speaks about the consequences of ignoring political problems. They said they will leave if these are not solved. We warned Prez Hassan Sheikh Mohamud it would come to this. The world invested blood and treasure to help Somalia stabilize — not to create a mini dictator. He refused to listen. Now they are reading him the riot act. After the communiqué was read, President HSM objected to its inclusion. But of course the statement was intentionally included and broadcast to pressure him and publicly register the troop-contributing countries’ displeasure. If he refuses to heed their message, they can ultimately withdraw their troops, leaving him cornered. This is not something we wanted. No Somali should want a man who nominally claims to be our President to be humiliated in this way.
