Cool demo! Why does the contral-trail type drive MC eariler than the contral-lead type in PC1/2? I thought the mouse lifts contral paw first in the later contral-lead type?

Great question! The data in both conditions are aligned to swing onset for the contralateral limb. While there are certainly neurons (like this one) that fire during cFL swing over the obstacle, the dominant signal in PC 1-2 is synchronized with swing in the *leading* limb.
