Maybe I am but I don't think this is being neuro-divergent. I think this is being blessed with a sharp sense of discernment, everytime she says neuro-divergent replace it with the word discernment and you'll start to see it. This gift will irritate alot of people because most of society thrives on people lacking discernment to have some form of control, be it subtle or obvious, over them.

"Neurodivergent" - unpopular take incoming: TLDR: There are highly intelligent people who have a natural set of skills, and/or may have developed skills as they matured within their environment; a second set of "neurodivergents" have a real brain-function diagnosis that has nothing to do with intelligence or environment. This word didn't arrive on the scene until maybe 20-25 years ago. It was used to describe a group of individuals with things like OCD, ADD/ADHD; and then they threw in autists and dyslexics. The whole thing implodes on those last two grouped with the first two. Speakin' as an old mom, granny, sister (not a professional behavioralist!) OCD, ADD/ADHD are behaviors. OCD is to maintain some control during chaos. ADD/ADHD is more like a mind that operates faster than the environment in which it finds itself. The other two (autism/dyslexia) are real disorders that have nothing to do with the environment, but is how the minds of those persons work. Two completely different categories. What this woman is describing is the OCD/ADD/ADHD version and (wrong think ahead) should not be lumped in with real disorders that are (or can cause) actual disability. Intelligence and control of one's environment, observing and responding to other humans is not "neurodivergence"; it is a higher level of intelligence that can manipulate their surroundings in such a way that people (who are incapable of stepping outside themselves for one minute and managing their environment) cannot understand. There is nothing wrong with us. There is nothing "divergent" about us. Quite the opposite: those who "go along to get along" are the divergents. The rest of us are navigating and controlling our environment to the benefit of all: Tidy homes Regular schedules Clear observation of verbal/body language cues Constant/ongoing list of tasks to complete Focused attention We can also spot liars and frauds from a mile away. That is not "neurodivergence"; it is intelligent work in action.

You know, I never liked the neurodivergent claim but I'm starting to warm up to it. I definitely feel like my brain works abnormally 😅 Neurodivergent or not, where are my people who can see the blueprints of life, society, and social interactions?

It’s why neurodivergents often have relationships with other neurodivergent people. Then we have neurodivergent children.😂

I would call this being Aware rather than neurodivergent. That word is batted around so much,it's lost its original meaning,it seems to be a badge of honour these days...I just detest LABELS 🙏💜

...and this does make me wonder if I would be labeled neurodivergent myself. Although I shun labels.

She has the added complication of being British. My mother and grandmother are/were Brits, and I have British friends, and there are so many subtleties and understatements in British culture.

Also, some people claim being neurodivergent because they didn't acquire social cues, fail to read the room properly, don't know how to deliver an answer or their truth in a smooth manner etc. They're blunt because they don't know how to do the packaging and instead of working on this , they take pride of being direct/ outspoken etc. Are they the ones destroying hierarchies ? Maybe, but they rather fail to see the hidden hierarchies as they rarely match with the ones on paper.

In Nigeria ,we don't call it neurodivergent , we call it stubborn, rude or too much 😭 No wonder so many of us spent years wondering what was wrong with us 💙 #EfitbeADHD

I would say that’s more about people who are awake. There are loads of ‘neurodivergent’ people who are still asleep.

I have also realise a lot of times, normies would label us as arrogant and having an attitude problem, when all we did was simply exist. We exist in comfortably in our own space and that’s smh unacceptable to ppl who are taking a part in this pretentious charade..we become difficult

Well said. I didn't find out I was ND until the start of my sixties. I wasted much of my previous life trying to "fix" myself. I've still had it way better than some poor sods I've read on the National Autism Forum, because I had some natural abilities and some good luck.

Are you Neurodivergent or a sigma archetype? Neurodivergent people have neurological variations (autism, ADHD, dyslexia) that differ from societal norms in processing, social interaction, attention, or sensory experiences. These are natural brain differences, often bringing strengths like deep focus, creativity, pattern recognition, or independent thinking, alongside challenges in areas like executive function or social norms. The sigma archetype or the "lone wolf" personality describes someone fiercely independent, self-reliant, nonconformist, and comfortable in solitude. Sigmas reject social hierarchies, prefer autonomy over leadership or following, and exhibit quiet confidence, introspection, and strategic thinking and are often portrayed as mysterious or detached from mainstream expectations.

Status quo is there for a reason, even if you are harmless you disrupt the normal. I don’t blame neurotypicals but yes the points mentioned in the video are true neurodivergents don’t have a choice, we can learn skills to look and behave normal but we can’t change who we are.
