Okay, super simple version for someone who’s never thought about brain cells before: Imagine your brain is like a massive city full of tiny living walkie-talkies called neurons. Each neuron is a little blob that wants to talk to other blobs. But they can’t just shout — they have to grow long skinny arms (one is called an axon, the others are shorter branches called dendrites) and then physically touch each other at special handshake spots called synapses. When two neurons finally touch and make that connection → that’s how messages (thoughts, memories, feelings, “ow that’s hot”, etc.) travel around your head. Now I know what’s not working in my brain 🧠
