I bet you've never noticed this ultra-cool but rather complicated "cone of prediction" at the center of Windows context menus? It allows the system to predict that you're aiming for a flyout. Well, that's because Windows (at least in the old days) didn't do any such fanciness. It just uses a timeout of 400ms, and it's always worked pretty well. It's even adjustable (SPI_SETMENUSHOWDELAY) these days, but used to just be 80% of your double-click speed setting. So the faster your reflexes were - per that setting, at least - the shorter your menu flyout allowance. No cone needed. ( I stole this from a Raymond Chen hockey card that I keep tucked up in my 50 Mission Cap ).

Nancy Guthrie To be clear, what is Most interesting about Porch Guy using the fresh vines he pulled to assist him with removing the Nest Camera shows his Inexperience with: 1-Wearing what appears to be double layered gloves meaning, Porch Guy did not realize how double layered gloves would affect his ability to grip and do the job at hand. He knew they would protect his DNA . He didn't know they would impede his ability to remove that camera because he had never removed a camera with gloved hand before. 2-Removing Nest cameras from mounts. If he had experience, he would have realized how difficult it would be to grip and pull from the bracket. Porch Guy planned and prepared, but this abduction was his first rodeo. Many of us in LE surmised this from the beginning based on his actions. This supports that conclusion. This isn't to say his planning didn't pay off. It did. But I am convinced now more that ever that he was a smart rookie having never committed a crime like this before. Pauline Hanson is now the preferred Prime Minister, as the establishment reels in shock. They did it to themselves. First the Liberals, and now Labor. They followed each other down the path to oblivion. There’s an old saying, “you have two ears and one mouth”, a sign that you should listen twice as much as you speak. But instead, the establishment just preached at us. They shamed and attacked us. They forgot us, and worse, ignored us completely. They gave each other jobs and titles as they pretended we admired them as much as they admire themselves. The establishment misread the rise of the Teals as a total rejection of social conservativism and personal ambition. Of a detest for masculinity and the total embrace of the politics of climate and mass immigration. But it wasn’t that. It was a frustration with the status-quo; an anger at the captured Liberal establishment, which made them almost indistinguishable from Labor. Albanese’s great appeal was that he was not Morrison, and Dutton actually looked somehow less prepared. But it was never a great embrace. It was more of a, “well I guess it’s you then”. Labor don’t really have a mandate for change, but they are convinced that Australians are a bunch of jealous fools that are too stupid to see the total erosion of our freedoms and way of life. Those in power are too blind to notice that everything they talk about and touch has set us backwards. But we see them. Albanese is just about the most inarticulate and incompetent Prime Minister we’ve ever had, and his vision for Australia does not extend beyond his comfortable, taxpayer funded retirement on the beach. The self-interest of the establishment is at record levels, and rather than listen, adapt and fix the problems they've caused, they just double down. And double down again. Both sides have grown transactional and prefer to shoot their messengers. They expel and slander those who have tried to do the right thing over the last decade, and now both sides are left with a talentless pool of transactional twits. There is not a capable government to be formed between them, and their time is up. I don’t think it will matter what Pauline Hanson says or does between now and the election, her popularity will continue to climb as she looks less and less like them… and they panic their way into helping her do that. The public have had enough, and Hanson is their pathway to showing the world that the Australian establishment is done. This is the beginning of a long journey to a more informed electorate and a better government. It has begun. We are going to get Australia back.

I don’t think the average fan realizes how much easier it is to play in the infield today in the MLB than it was 20, 30 or 40 years ago. The fields are significantly better than before. There are fewer ground balls being hit. You can’t break up a double play. And maybe the biggest difference is that teams don’t have speed guys at the top or bottom of their lineups that put pressure on the infielders. I will never forget the pressure I felt as an infielder playing against the Cleveland Indians in the late 90’s. With Lofton, Vizquel and Alomar hitting 1,2 & 3 it was a nightmare because all 3 could hit, bunt and run. More Batteries vs. Submarines Now that the German TKMS and the French Naval Group have massively adopted lithium-ion batteries, following the Japanese lead, this is consolidating as a major trend, just as I had predicted. The next stage will be solid-state batteries, and at that point, we'll essentially be discussing only speed and submerged endurance in comparison to nuclear submarines. Since solid-state batteries are lighter, they will allow for a greater number to be installed, freeing up space for more powerful propulsion systems. Naval Group has already sold a version of the Scorpène to Indonesia capable of remaining submerged for up to 80 days. That's with lithium-ion batteries. Imagine what this could exceed, more than double, with solid-state batteries. In practical terms, a more powerful engine combined with solid-state batteries in the proportions that Naval Group is now using in the Scorpène would provide three times the speed, meaning something like 10–15 knots at constant speed while maintaining around 50 days submerged. This would give a range of 40,000–50,000 km, requiring less than one hour on the surface for a fast recharge. For speeds above 25 knots, simply adding more batteries and a better engine would suffice, as the solid-state system has high power output. All this at 15–20% of the cost of a nuclear submarine. And if the choice is to power the batteries with a micro-reactor, it would cost 25–35% of a conventional nuclear one. Then someone will say: “But a nuclear sub can stay submerged for years.” That makes no difference at all, since even with around 60 days of endurance, the crew still needs to surface to resupply provisions. The big advantages remain: battery-powered subs are superior in silence, and speed can be addressed with larger battery packs.
