Never forget Kevin Stefanski had the #Browns go empty the first drive in Pittsburgh with a rookie making his second start
52 Yorum

It’s a 4 man rush what’s the problem? He has time here. Second throw is also not empty. Kevin had a lot of mistakes here, how is this the big one for you?

Because its a rookie making his second start against a pass rush loaded with depth. First 5 of 7 plays were passes (only first downs that quarter were due to Pit penalties) It was among the dumbest game plans Ive ever witnessed in real time

@Corytheman45 Sooo were not supposed to go into empty because??? Am i missing something? Are empty formations only ran in the NFL? Are you a moron (probably)?

When your offense line is struggling and your facing the deepest pass rush in the league you don't pass 52 times You have to run the ball to slow the pass rush- its a concept Stefanski never understood. If you don't the DL will tee off and it will end up how it does every year in Pittsburgh, a ton of sacks taken

@Bookiesbff00 @Corytheman45 “spreading the defense out to get a coverage ID for our rookie QB is a dumb mistake” yall are hilarious

@Bookiesbff00 @Corytheman45 so how did that work out having a rookie dropback 58 times in pittsburgh in his second start? Put any rookie QB in the last ten years in that same situation with the same roster and they fail 10 out of 10 times

@avy3n @Bookiesbff00 WHAT DOES 58 DROPBACKS HAVE TO DO WITH A SNAP OF 00 PERSONNEL

Blows my mind theres a section of Stefanski defenders that claim he doesn’t abandon the run He made a rookie throw 52 times against a Pittsburgh pass rush

Both of the plays shown had clean pockets…

For a big bodied mobile QB sure for 5'9 Dillon Gabriel not so much- first one he had to jump to make the throw, the second he had to guess what spot he had to throw to because he couldn't see over the pass rush My point is Stefanski didn't protect his QBs at all

Agree to disagree. I see two clean pockets with passing options for the QB. These plays look like the QB just not being an NFL qb, to me. Regardless, Kev is gone. Don’t know why you are wasting your time on this.

Plenty of bad decisions made - but Shedeur held onto the ball for a little more than 3.05+ seconds - which is an ETERNITY for a short pass. That's his biggest issue, and not sure he'll ever shake it.

Thats Dillon Gabriel in the clip above his time to throw was 2.75 seconds this year- he still got sacked at the same rate as Shedeur

Got it. 3.06 seconds on that play is abysmal - even if Johnny Unitas is in the clip instead of Gabriel.

This isn't that much of a mistake as much as its a calculated risk (idk what down and distance it is btw) Going spread sometimes helps younger QBs see the field/read the defense yes they lose a potential PBLCKR He's trying to catch base/heavy DEF with a match up (13)

Oh I know why he did it He went for the “matchup” instead of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of his own team He saw Pittsburgh secondary and thought he could attack it but reality is he ignored the pass pro issues and the fact the Browns had a great RB

Yeah- Stefanski has some weakness Playcalling: Not the worst but he is more "mechanic" (implements key concepts) than an "engineer" (ahead of the curve, developing new ideas, understands effects by changes) [McVey/Reid/Shanny jr.) He also was not the best at managing players

If going empty and spreading out the defence is Kevin’s biggest mistake then he shouldn’t have been fired lmaooo

Never forget shedeur forgetting how to do a 3 step drop and sacking himself in a crucial moment

Worst “mistake” you’ve ever seen in a game is usage of an empty set with a rookie QB, how many games have you watched?

Clean pocket .. this tweet is so dumb Mac

Multiple open receivers and he can’t hit any of them 😭

If I’m not mistaken didnt KS attempt 60 passes that day as well?

52 attempts but it was close to 60 dropbacks if you include sacks/scrambles

That’s not even the worst decision he made on a first drive vs the Steelers in his time here. He went empty with DW first play of the game with 3 TEs and 2 RBs and every route was either an out or a curl.

But Sanders is the second coming of John Elway. He should have been fine.

Open receivers in both clips lol

Never forget the head coach made his player play football

No what I did notice is how #68 actually held a block for him! But when Shedeur played, he magically couldn't guard anyone and kept letting him get hit.

Except Rees called this game

Very wrong Rees didn’t start calling plays till after the bye week

My bad

Pocket was fine. Pocket awareness and QB movement was not.

Thought he was the goat and could handle it.

That boy was ass

Get over it Sanders groupie.

Oh I remember he left Baker out there to get hurt horrible coach never won a playoff game NEVER. He's 0-2 in the playoffs AVP was 1-0 Fooook that Kevin guy🤣 GO BROWNS!!

I dont think empty has worked once since stefanski has been here

I like how Bitonio turns around pre-snap and probably says, "You're gonna die! Get rid of the ball!"

So thats just to alert the center the QB is ready for the ball since they were in silent count But im sure that conversation was had in the huddle

Yeah, I know.

Am I the only person who sees bad QB play lol

Ok. And?

Stefanski Stunk Out Loud #DawgPound

I just know you bleed once a month.

He really thought this weak ass nigga was great tho

Dillion mainly operated out of empty at Oregon.

Football malpractice.

Tons of stuff you could have chosen from, but there’s nothing wrong with going empty man 😂

Spread them out so it’s easier to diagnose the coverage is the idea. I don’t know if this was Kevin’s biggest mistake

So what his a rookie his a QB this is just football he been doing this what being into empty first drive got to do with anything?? Yall none football ppl just be saying shit

Who’s 5’8 and can’t throw deep
