This was kind of a shitty oversight in the re-releases of the game. There are a lot of other things on the old islands that you could do...if you could get past the max level super bosses that guard the entrances, at which point, who even cares about what else is there?

Yeah, the dark aeons were in the PAL and International versions but not NTSC, then were added to the Remaster on PS3/4. Makes Cloisters a lot more important to 100% first try.
