Github is okay, but I find it's only good for games with minimal art because otherwise you'll need to pay monthly for LFS which is clunky and I think stores pointers or something instead of the asset itself (sometimes) which screws up your project. I recommend P4V or Diversion.

When working with a team and using source control, it’s better to have a pull request to validate changes before merging the branch into the main.
