2018. On the Pod Save America podcast Ilhan Omar explains how disappointed she was when she first arrived in America after living in a refugee camp in Kenya. Omar had seen pictures of Americans leading "prosperous" lives but instead all she saw when she arrived was trash, graffiti, and homeless people. Imagine coming from a refugee camp to America and your first reaction is disgust. BTW, the ungrateful refugee is a multi-millionaire now so it hasn't been all that bad.
