Conspiracy theories are fun and all, but the fact that I created my early VR headsets in my garage is well documented on several internet forums. Showing a video of ICT labeled as my garage is dumb, I was hired there later specifically because of my virtual reality work.

Funny how out of everything shown, the garage story is the part you focus on. Not the part about you being a Thiel puppet, or your AI targeting systems potentially killing innocents, but the garage story myth that’s been used 10x over by every “self made” billionaire.

I focus on it because what you say is objectively false, obviously absurd, and the foundation of your hypothesis. The government was not behind some 16-year-old old teenager designing open-source VR headsets. The rest is a mix of subjective opinion, speculation, and confusion.

No, it did not. I worked at ICT part-time as a Lab Technician for 8 months, mostly on a program to treat veterans with PTSD. This was years after I started designing and selling VR headsets. Your claim that ICT was where it all started is BS, blatant misinformation that anyone can disprove with just minutes of research. I started building VR headsets in my parent's garage and continued after I was kicked out of the house and living in a camper trailer. Try to move the goalposts all you want, but what your video says is false.

Peter's firm, Founders Fund, was the first institutional investor in Oculus after we raised $2.4M via Kickstarter pre-orders for the Oculus Rift and millions more from friends and family. They invested $1M out of our Series A round that totaled $16M. I had not been living in a camper trailer for quite some time. And Peter was not funded by In-Q-Tel, though Palantir did receive $1.25M from them 12 years earlier in 2004. It is a lie to say that I created the Oculus Rift in a government research lab and a lie to claim that the government was involved in the creation of Oculus just because someone affiliated with a company that got money from the government over a decade earlier later decided to invest in Oculus, after we had already sold a ton of VR headsets and won a Best Hardware award at E3.
