A kayak in shark infested waters, fishing with big live baits, fishing alone… What could go wrong?

This is why you don't fish from a kayak in the ocean.

Sharks just want to know what you're having for lunch.

Listening to his accent, it seems like his country should just outlaw sharks. That should fix everything.

Why did I have to watch 2 minutes of him fishing and then not even see the rest of him getting away from the shark

𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? 🦈🚣‍♂️ Kayakers in the ocean often spot sharks because their small, quiet boats blend naturally into the water, making marine life feel less threatened — which is cool… until a fin pops up right beside you! 😅🌊

It's one thing for one to be around you and you say nope I'm out. It's another to keep turning your head around and see it's following the shit out of you. Dude absolutely shit himself.

Former open ocean sea kayaker here: The answer is, nature is amazing! Sadly, yes, one too many white shark encounters (SoCal) got me to stop. But it’s good living out there!

would be scary AF, but the good news is Great Whites attack from the bottom up. So if its cruising next to you, it's just saying hi.

We got em up here on the Redwood Coast of California. One dude a couple years back got flipped over in his kayak off of Shelter Cove. We call them the land lords.

In the full vid it chases him for a hot minute. Saltwater kayak fishing is an awesome direct connection to nature. Fast moving storms and boats are the real danger. But yeah, I wouldn't do deep water Australia though.

“I think I’ll paddle out to sea in a device that makes me look just like natural pray to large predators like Great White Sharks and Orcas.” No thank you. I prefer NOT to become a statistic to natural selection.

Gotta snag the big fish and give the little boat a tug out to sea.
