😏Secrets of deceleration assessment… it’s not about the turn.🙋🏽‍♂️ For 15 years I have studied great coaches. A common thread has been that they all use intense actions as movement screens. Thus they have a great coaching eye. ❓Why intense actions? 🙋🏽‍♂️Analysis of sprinting, stoping , turning , hopping, jumping, cutting, backwards running opens a diagnostic window to assess how athletes create pretension and share load across their system. dpfaff has made this clear 🏥Be it for rehab (physios are coaches in my world) or for explosive sports. It’s the same screen, but through different lenses 🧐🤓 👀What are they looking at? 💡The same thing as you. 👀What do they SEE? 🤔Well that’s a different story. Damian Harper, PhD has set the scene for what metrics matter and Tom Dos'Santos has re-clarified the shapes that are safe vs effective for deceleration and COD. ↩️When you watch a 180 degree turn, all the focus is on the turn. Turning and being perturbed at speed is the ultimate speed ability for team sports and also a moment of tragedy for knees and hamstrings. To assess turning efficiency we use vuemotion to measure the shapes , velocities , decelerations and movement efficiency of team sports players. We create PSR reports to simplify the metrics and make it actionable for our clients across professional leagues. ⚽️🏀🏈🥎🎾🏉 📝The plant step is important but is highly impacted by the previous 1-5 steps. 🦘Just like in the Olympics. A good take off in the long jump is the result of the preceding 4-5 “steering steps”. This applies to any jumping when we are converting horizontal to vertical momentum… ❓Does it continue to happen in Braking, COD and agility… 💡These penultimate steps are critical for steering , and are how we constantly adjust our locomaotion. 📝Frans Bosch has made it clear, efficient execution of intense actions are characterised by optimal limb SWITCH and the associated reflexive postures of hip lock. 🤔What movement preference can be observed in the penultimate, antipenultimate, preantipenultimate , propreantipenultimate steps during an intense deceleration? 🤔What clues can you get about a players triple flexion ability? Do they share the load? 🤔How do they coordinate co contractions around hip and knee? Can they sit to create leverage? 🤔 What do asymmetries say about physical qualities and player confidence? 🧪When assessing deceleration for team sports we recognise the 15-0-5 for its maximal intensities but we utilise the 10-0-5 more often because we can get more reps and teaching moments out of it. Needless to say we love ᴍᴀʀᴛɪɴ ʙᴜᴄʜʜᴇɪᴛ new paper on the topic. Key Highlights: 🔹 Effective Pressing: Crucial for disrupting opponents and regaining possession, enhancing offensive opportunities. 🔹 Injury Risks: Pressing increases injury risks, particularly ACL injuries. 🔹 Realistic Training: We compared the 15-0-5 change of direction test with actual match-pressing actions to enhance testing and training realism. 🔹 Peak Speeds: Similar peak speeds in 15-0-5 and match-pressing actions validate the 15-0-5 as a practical tool for assessing and training pressing demands. 🔹 Future Directions (1): Incorporate variability in speed, angle of change in direction and deceleration demands, along with perception-action challenges for better simulation of game conditions. 🔹 Future Directions (2): Motorized sprint resistance devices can enhance assessment and training, providing valuable data for player development and injury prevention. #Football #SportsScience #Research #Training #InjuryPrevention #PerformanceOptimization #EliteAthletes

🚨🗣️New: Zlatan Ibrahimovic breaks down Moriyasu’s whiteboard genius vs Netherlands: “I’ve seen a lot in football, big clubs, big egos, big money but what Hajime Moriyasu did against the Netherlands? That’s genius. Pure leadership. While the big European teams are busy with their fancy tablets and shouting into the noise, this man pulls out a simple whiteboard with giant handwritten numbers and outsmarts everyone. Respect.” “Primary purpose? Time management in a roaring stadium. Shouting gets lost. But those oversized numbers — ‘45’ at half-time, then the countdown ‘3’, ‘2’, ‘1’ late on — every player, even the wide attackers far from the bench, sees it instantly. No ambiguity. When you’re trailing 2-1, that injects real psychological urgency. Japan stayed composed, recycled possession patiently, and surged exactly when it mattered. That’s smart coaching.” “And analysts are right to speculate there’s a secondary layer. Those numbers could easily be pre-coded tactical signals — press intensity, formation tweaks, set-piece routines, or mindset shifts. Japan’s style is highly organized, almost scientific. There was even a brief flip with the wrong number shown, but it didn’t derail them. That’s discipline.” Tactical impact? Massive. Psychologically, it gave Japan a focus edge. Clear time awareness prevented panic or complacency. The whole team felt the urgency together — perfect for Moriyasu’s emphasis on unity and tenacity. Defensively, their compact ‘honeycomb’ shape frustrated the Dutch despite all that possession. Substitutes like Ito and Ogawa delivered, and the late push produced the equalizer. The board helped them execute in the chaos while countering Koeman’s defensive changes. Communication superiority at its finest. Analog beats tech failures or crowd noise any day. Visible across the entire pitch. It fits Japan’s adaptive philosophy — that post-2024 shift to a balanced 3-4-2-1. They earned a valuable point against one of the favorites and exposed a bit of over-conservatism late on. Football isn’t always about having the best players. Sometimes it’s about having the smartest coach. The Netherlands had more possession. Japan had more clarity. And clarity wins more matches than ego.”

Would you believe an AI agent can test a real VR action game in real time, the way a person plays it? Meta XR Operator makes it possible. As far as I know, this is the first time. I am not talking about tapping a menu or replaying a recorded click path, but genuinely moving, shooting, and using the same game mechanics a human player does. In NeonReach VR, which is a real (and open source) action game, rings spawn 12m out and come at you somewhere between 1.5 and 5.5 m/s, getting faster over a 90 second ramp. There are three kinds: straight, weaving side to side, and spinning. Every shot is a full slingshot cycle, so you press, pull back, aim, then release. Obstacles arrive at head height and cost you a life if you don't get out of the way. You have ten lives. Here is why the game is hard for an AI agent. Even though Meta XR Operator gives the agent everything it needs to observe the app and act inside it, the agent still cannot play. One agent turn takes 10 to 15 seconds. One throw is four steps that have to happen in order, because the press has to latch before the pull, and they cannot be batched into a single call. So a throw costs about 45 seconds. A fast ring only exists for 2.3 seconds. One action takes 20x longer than the target is alive. Prompt tuning does not close a gap that size. What works is a three stage path: EXPLORATION, then SKILL, then SCRIPT. 1/ EXPLORATION. The agent drives the live app and works the game out on its own. It verified the coordinate mapping by setting a pose and reading it back, then derived the launch model. The more useful output was the traps it found. For example, the player's own body collider silently deflects a ball released inside it, with no error and no log line. That produced two confident wrong conclusions before anyone caught them. 2/ SKILL. All of that gets written down as a reusable SKILL.md plus an aim solver. There is a section that separates what was actually verified from what was assumed, so a wrong conclusion cannot quietly turn into doctrine. This stage also produced the trick that mattered. Set timeScale to 0 and a throw becomes atomic in game time, so however long the agent spends thinking never shows up in the shot. 3/ SCRIPT. The agent then compiles everything into a player script, a loop that observes, decides, and throws, calling the MCP servers directly from Python with no model in the hot path. Round trips drop from 10 to 15 seconds down to something between 1 and 16 milliseconds. The loop runs at 23 Hz, about 0.75 seconds per throw, roughly 60x faster than the agent doing it turn by turn. The result is that it plays like a person, which you can see from the attached video. It tracks the rings, works out where each one is going, throws with whichever hand is free, moves out of the way of the obstacles, and does not wait around to see whether the last throw landed. Shipping settings, no difficulty edits, no health locks, no slow motion. It plays until it actually loses. The takeaway generalizes beyond games: an agent does not have to be the player. Even following the same rules as a player, it has too much latency between moves. Having the agent write the thing that acts bypasses that constraint entirely. Try it yourself: or explore the agent-created skill and scripts: Based on NeonReach VR by Dilmer, with no code changes. I only upgraded its Meta XR Core SDK to v205, which ships Meta XR Operator. Our blog post, Introducing Meta XR Operator: Close the Build-Test-Verify Loop for VR: Disclosure: I work at Meta. And this represents my own opinion. #XR #VR #AI #MetaQuest #Unity #GameDev

"Ryan Singer (Ryan Singer) and his Shape Up method is an incredible system that takes as input 'kludgy, clumsily scaled product org unsure about what to build and how' and delivers as output 'a focused clear thinking set of teams that has a rhythm, a method, and a purpose.” That's how Des Traynor (co-founder of Intercom) described the impact Ryan Singer and the Shape Up method have on teams. Ryan spent nearly two decades refining a product development approach at 37signals that helped the company build super-successful products with small teams. Based on these lessons, he wrote a book called "Shape Up: Stop Running in Circles and Ship Work that Matters," which describes a different way of working that an increasing number of companies are adopting. If your team used to run smoothly but is now struggling to ship great product, this episode is for you. In our conversation, Ryan shares: 1. A step-by-step approach to transitioning from Scrum to Shape Up by piloting the methodology with a single team before broader implementation. 2. Why traditional Agile and Scrum methods often lead teams into endless cycles of work without meaningful shipping milestones. 3. The “appetite-driven” approach to product development where teams set fixed timeboxes (usually six weeks maximum) and vary the scope instead of expanding timelines. 4. The exact process for running effective “shaping” sessions that collaboratively define projects before committing resources. 5. How to adapt Shape Up principles to your company’s unique context, even if it’s nothing like Basecamp. 6. Practical techniques for bridging the engineering-design divide by bringing technical and product perspectives together earlier in the process. 7. The powerful “breadboarding” and “fat marker sketching” techniques that help teams align on solutions without getting lost in high-fidelity details. 8. The clear warning signs that your current development process is failing before it’s too late to change course. 9. Proven strategies to implement Shape Up methods, whether you’re working in a startup or enterprise environment. 10. Why the PM role shifts upstream in Shape Up, focusing more on problem definition than project management. Disappointed to say that in my 10th year of commentating competitive Tekken 7, I will not be involved in its conclusion at the TWT Finals. Telling the story of these players and building this community has taken up the majority of my life this past decade so I put together a video to reflect back on it (👇bottom of this post). I've been telling this story since Evo 2015 with Nobi and AO in the grand finals of Evo. We saw the Echo Fox boys dominate the scene, then the Knee/JDCR era, to Qudans returning to win the first TWT (Hei-ha-chi! Hei-ha-chi!). In 2018 we had the Knee/Qudans era which concluded with Rangchu winning the TWT Finals. Then in 2019 Arslan Ash flipped the planet upside down at Evo Japan, Ryan Hart owned me up, Pakistan showed up through the rest of that year, and we saw Chikurin become TWT Champ. Then came Leroy Japan 2020 (shoutouts to Book) before the pandemic online era, online Evo's, Tekken Online Challenges and the creation of ICFC. More recently Arslan closed out his 4 Evo Titles, we witnessed the Knee/Arslan era, and now its the Atif Butt era, with him winning TWT Finals and closing out Gamers8 this year. So many players, new and old, will converge on New Orleans this weekend to conclude this story of what I believe has been THE BEST ARC IN FGC HISTORY. Personally, this past decade has been an incredible journey that I will forever be grateful for. I got to travel the world (Amsterdam, Japan, France, Australia, Philippines, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Pakistan, Canada, Chile, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Germany) with my friends and make new friends across the globe. I helped start UYU and was their VP as we gave opportunities to players like Jeondding, LowHigh, Yuyu, Qudans etc. Jinhee and Drew showed so much love to the FGC during that time and I'm grateful they gave me the opportunity to guide the team internally. This past weekend the ICFC Championship was my last commentary for Tekken 7, marking a bittersweet end for my Tekken 7 commentary journey. The beginnings of ICFC were notable though. By 2018, Wednesday Night Fights Tekken 7 was dying. We were down to 4 entrants and there was no stream. I asked Valle if I could take over the Tekken 7 portion, I put together all the equipment, setup the stream going forward and we grew to 64 man weeklies offline. It COULD NOT have been done without Tanman, #BeeLDeaL | B:L, Billy, Suiken, Michael Y. Kwon and 上原 rickstah, who all held it down once the ball got rolling. Then the pandemic hit, we pivoted to online tournaments and ran everything ourselves. We had expanded our local to the entire west coast and after T7's netcode update, the entire USA. 10/0 reached out with the idea of taking what we had built and expanding it to EU and Asia. It was a difficult decision to step away from WNF, but I moved our tournaments to 10/0, ICFC began, and we now have a new generation of top players built ONLINE. That was unprecedented for Tekken. A HUGE thank you to all of the community for participating in these events and donating to the prize pools. Without the players and the community, none of this would exist. Never forget that. Big thanks to Chris Ceg and 10/0 for expanding what we started and pushing it to new heights. I have to also thank Katsuhiro Harada and Michael Murray for the amazing game that is TEKKEN 7. HUGE thanks to Aris for everything hes done for TEKKEN 7 and LUYG. To Mirage | Spag for connecting all of us more closely to the EU (NA>) and Pakistan (NA<) scenes. To Mark Julio 『マークマン』 for always being inner circle⭕️, pushing Tekken forward, and being an amazing co-commentator throughout these years. And of course Steve Scott for being my main duo these last few years. We got into a good ass groove the last 5 years and its always a damn good time. Lastly, 10 years is a long time. When I started this, I was a pro player, I was in a long relationship, I had a part time job, I had all black hair and minimal wrinkles. None of those things are true anymore😆. I know that commentary as a profession is hugely unpredictable and unreliable, so I honestly have NO CLUE what the future holds. One thing I know for certain though, is that I love TEKKEN. I've NEVER been a shill, but dealing with this has made me feel like one these past 4 months. So THE BIGGEST THANK YOU I want to give is to everyone who has stood by me, supported me, and never doubted me for a moment this decade. I'm sad I didn't get one last "FINAL FINAL round" at the FINAL FINALS for Tekken 7, but I'm sure everyone at the finals will say it for me anyway. I love you guys! Have fun in New Orleans

Cyberpunk City: Stepping Boldly Into a New Era At Cyberpunk City, innovation and ambition have always driven us. We’ve built more than just a game—we’ve created an entire ecosystem where blockchain technology meets immersive experiences. From our token-powered economy to NFT-backed in-game assets, we’ve consistently pushed boundaries. Along the way, we’ve achieved significant milestones, expanded our community, and shown resilience in the ever-changing world of Web3. Now, we’re excited to announce a pivotal new chapter for Cyberpunk City as we prepare to migrate to a new blockchain that aligns perfectly with our long-term goals. This move represents not just a transition, but an opportunity to build on our successes and scale the project further. With exciting updates on the horizon, we’re confident this journey will unlock new opportunities for our community and propel Cyberpunk City to new heights. Reflecting on Our Achievements Before diving into the future, we want to acknowledge the milestones and achievements that have shaped Cyberpunk City: Strong Token Economy: We’ve built a thriving token-based ecosystem and ensured real utility for in-game assets through NFT integration. Commitment to Decentralization: With the launch of @CyberpunkStake, we showed our dedication to decentralization and rewarded our community with substantial token distributions. Impressive NFT Volume: Cyberpunk City is currently ranked 10th in all-time volume among NFT projects, a testament to the trust and activity within our community. Price Action and Market Strength: Our token has demonstrated consistent strength in price action, reflecting confidence in our vision and project execution. Meaningful Partnerships and Community Events: We’ve secured valuable partnerships and organized gaming events that brought our community together. Recognition at xDay: Cyberpunk City has proudly participated in two xDay events, earning two awards that highlight the project’s innovation and impact. These achievements reflect the hard work of our team, the enthusiasm of our supporters, and our shared vision for building something remarkable. As we prepare for the next chapter, we’ll continue to build on these successes, creating more opportunities and experiences for everyone involved. What Does This Mean for Our Community? This transition is more than just a technical shift—it’s a chance to elevate the Cyberpunk City ecosystem, refine our offerings, and tap into larger, more vibrant ecosystems. Our mission is to ensure that Cyberpunk City thrives in an ecosystem that can support our ambitions. Here are the key updates that will take place during this migration: 1. Token Ticker Change Earlier, our community voted through a DAO process, selecting $CYB as the new token ticker. As part of this transition, $CYBER holders will be able to bridge their tokens to $CYB on the new chain. 2. Asset Bridging All community-owned NFTs and tokens will be bridgeable to the new chain. Our Cyberpunk City dApp will facilitate these transactions, ensuring the process is as smooth as possible. Some assets will receive enhancements, but rest assured, all updates will be completed within a reasonable timeframe. 3. xExchange Trading Our token will continue to be traded on xExchange throughout the migration process, maintaining liquidity and flexibility. You will also have the option to bridge your tokens to the new blockchain at your convenience. 4. Timeline and Chain Announcement The official chain announcement will be made on November 8, 2024, and the migration will be completed by year-end. The new blockchain aligns with our vision of expanding Cyberpunk City into a vast, more diverse ecosystem, with a significantly larger user base and even greater opportunities for growth. 5. Whitepaper V2 We’ve received many inquiries about our new whitepaper, and we’re excited to share that Whitepaper V2 will be part of a coordinated series of announcements. Due to uncertainties over the past 10 months, we postponed its release to ensure it aligns with the new direction of the project. Now, with a clear path ahead, we are working on a whitepaper that reflects new features and insights gained over three years of development. 6. Website Redesign Alongside the chain announcement, we’re launching a completely revamped website to elevate the Cyberpunk City experience. With a cutting-edge design that mirrors the sophistication and quality of our game, the new site will be more dynamic, visually immersive, and crafted to engage a growing community of gamers. This update will also roll out with Whitepaper V2, providing a clear and comprehensive vision of our roadmap and future plans. The redesigned website reflects our commitment to delivering a premium experience and attracting a larger audience. 7. Marketing Strategy Our decision to keep the blockchain confidential for now is part of a carefully crafted marketing strategy. We aim to reach the largest audience possible with this announcement and are preparing the necessary content and campaigns to ensure a smooth and exciting reveal. 8. Business Development and Partnerships Our business development team is actively working to establish new partnerships on the new blockchain. Once the transition becomes public, we’ll be announcing multiple collaborations to accelerate growth and expansion in our new ecosystem. A New Chapter for Cyberpunk City This transition is a bold and necessary step toward scaling Cyberpunk City into a truly global ecosystem. It’s not just a technical shift—it’s a new beginning, filled with opportunities to build on our past successes and embrace new challenges. We’re confident that this move will unlock new possibilities, helping us reach more players, forge deeper partnerships, and create a thriving community. We’re excited to share this journey with you and look forward to what lies ahead. Stay tuned for updates and get ready to experience the next evolution of Cyberpunk City! Thank you for your support—we’re just getting started!

Exposing Demus Pixx Darm. Is this really the competitive scene you want, Fortnite Competitive ? Normally, I wouldn’t care, just like I haven’t for the past few years, but we’re tired. Tired of it always happening to us. Tired of how impossible it is to compete on equal terms. It feels like it’s no longer about who’s better. It’s about who has more connections, who does more teaming, and who threatens others harder. We want to expose three situations that are clearly prohibited in the official FNCS rules, and that completely break the values of fair competition. ----------------------- 1. Repeated griefing and intentional suicides to prevent us from qualifying The team doing this was already qualified. And because we were their biggest threat in their POI, they spent the entire final part of Day 2 looking for us, pushing us, and leaving matches on purpose just to requeue and keep griefing. In the clips, you can clearly see how they eliminate us and immediately suicide just to requeue and find us again. In one game, when we weren’t even in the lobby, they just stood still looking for our names and stream sniped to keep griefing. They’re not trying to win or qualify. They just want to prevent us from doing it. 🟥 This clearly breaks: · Section 8.1.3 – Game Sabotage “Players shall not engage in game sabotage… or any activity harmful to the enjoyment of Fortnite by other users as intended by Epic.” · Section 8.2.1 – Competitive Integrity “Any form of unfair play is prohibited by these Rules.” “Intentionally Disconnecting from Fortnite after you or a member of your team takes damage…” · Section 8.2.2 – Collusion “Feeding: Intentionally allowing oneself to be eliminated by an opposing player.” While this isn't traditional “feeding,” they are intentionally dying after targeting us, only to requeue and do it again. That’s sabotage, and it clearly violates the spirit and intent of these rules. ----------------------- 2. Systematic teaming with friends from their country 🇵🇱 There is no competitive integrity when 100% of the games are played the same way, by the same two teams trading surge, never finishing kills, and never actually fighting. This isn’t a real contest. It’s always the same surge base, the same damage pattern, and zero intent to eliminate. In one clip below, they even knock each other and have a launch pad right below them, but don’t use it. Because they’re friends. Let’s be clear: Kombek is in our heat, and he’s openly friends with Pixx Demus. If they’re teaming in customs, how can we trust that when we fight their friends during Heat 1, Kombek won’t rotate to back them up? It’s happened before. And it keeps happening. 🟥 This clearly violates: · Section 8.2.2 – Collusion “Teaming: Players working together during the Match while on opposing teams.” “Planned Movement: Agreement between two or more opposing players to land at specific locations and move through the map in a planned way before the Match begins.” “Communication: Sending or receiving signals (both verbal and non-verbal) to communicate with opposing players.” This isn’t strategy. It’s blatant system abuse, and everyone sees it. ----------------------- 3. Coaching and pre-planned griefing across heats They’re coaching teams (friends) in other heats to grief the players contesting their spot, so that if those friends qualify, they’ll get a completely free drop in Grands. They’re manipulating the tournament before it even begins, and the worst part is that they post about it publicly, proudly. And maybe this would make some sense if later that teams planned to contest Demus, Pixx or Darm in Grands, but they don’t. They’ve already agreed beforehand not to land on them. They’re just helping eliminate threats now so they can keep the drop uncontested later. This is about: - Coaching others to do their dirty work - Cross-heat griefing coordination - Securing free drops before even qualifying 🟥 This breaks: · Section 8.2.1 – Competitive Integrity “Each player is expected to play within the spirit of Fortnite and these Rules at all times during any Event Match.” “Utilizing outside assistance regarding the location of other players… or any other information not otherwise known to the player by the information on his or her own screen.” · Section 8.2.2 – Collusion “Any agreement to intentionally influence the outcome of any match or Event.” This isn’t a one-off case. It’s deliberate, long-term structural manipulation of drops, heats and the entire competitive system. ----------------------- Where’s the fairness when you load into a game? What chance do new or unknown players have if they don’t have the right connections? Do you really want a competitive scene where abusing the system, not skill, is what works best? And no, this isn’t “contest” These are 10 out of 10 games between the same two teams, building the same surge bases, trading damage, and making each other’s games infinitely easier. There’s no midgame. No map strategy. No real rotations. Just teaming and abuse. This is not the Fortnite we fell in love with Remove surge. Or at least: - Penalize repeated surge trades between the same teams - Prevent infinite surge exchanges between friends - Punish ultra-late rotations after fake trades Do something. Anything. Because this isn’t what competitive Fortnite was meant to be. We just want to compete. Show what Spain can do. Play fair. Real 3v3s. No alliances, no coaching favors, no manipulation. We appreciate any support on this post. We’re doing it for our region. We deserve the same right to compete as anyone else. We can’t stay silent when: - We’re being teamed on - We’re griefed in 5 straight games - Others are being coached to cone us We’ve already reported everything. And we encourage anyone who’s gone through something similar to report it too. We have clips, proof, screenshots, and we’re ready to provide whatever is needed for a serious investigation. All we’re asking for is a fair chance to compete. There needs to be a line. A precedent. If you care even a little about this game, it’s time to act. And let’s not pretend this is new. Every season it's the same. Hogman Loomin Leven Tocata Evanosaurus “Unrawrl Engine 5.8” Rex Fortnite_ES

🦘🇦🇺My take on Ange Postecoglou. If you disagree, that's fine. Freedom of speech, your opinion might be listened to or not. Mine is, I know by who. That's what I care about. 🌏Postecoglou has coached every age group at national / international level on 3 continents. That's inspirational and commands respect, if he was to be found out, as he said, he'd have been a long time ago like these former pros who cry because they get a U19 team relegated (ask me the names). 🤓From a footballing standpoint, he's not making up theoretical shit like all these nerds jumping up on the Pro License barely coaching a team; and scrambling to figure out the reality of the sport/people in Phase 2, 3 doing the polar opposite to what they told everyone they'd do. 🧠The football Postecoglou sets up has room for decision making within a structure which is an extraordinary achievement from a coaching standpoint, and what every coach in the world should aspire to do. Ajax or Netherlands 1974, Nantes 1995, Rijkaard's Barcelona, Wenger's Arsenal. If you like "good football" , this is good football. If you want to win, pay more and get the best players. The correlation is right there. 🔁There's rotations everywhere (think triangles who tilt, carrier and two options short/long), and players have 2-3 options everytime. The right balance between combinations into feet and third man runs (third man runs are vital - and often forgotten when nerds coach teams and have a control kink) 🫡For that, you need a club culture of empowered players caring about the common good ; and also good enough to act selflessly to what the game demands (and actually execute it). ⚖️The challenge is that bang average off the mill pros do what they're told, can't do most things. And ones who can't do play the solo card - football is an individual sport masquerading as a team sport. 👀I can confidently second guess that the hesitation in collective movement suggest they're thinking in real time and not going "by the book" (which is microwave coaching). 👥How often Postecoglou talks about culture, turning up together for a meal before games. Old school, but actually grounded. This isn't a startup or UberEats. 🧘‍♂️There's a handful of adults coaching Premier League teams. Slot maybe, Howe, Emery, Frank, Glasner, Moyes, McKenna who value the holistic composition of performance: squad chemistry, work ethic, managing people and treating them as adults. Coincidence or not, I rate all of them. Coincidence, they all overperfom with the resources they have. 🚩Defensively, the idea to hold a high line can make sense on the occasion. Most of you don't work in football. People who do know the biggest paradox in the modern age is that lot of players are outstanding to think smart and execute fast in high pressure situations; yet are out of their depth when they have time and space to think. 🫣Chelsea 11v9 took half an hour to break down 9 fuckers on halfway line, and people know how badly it reflected on one of the worst assemblage of players ever seen pound for pound. And that's not Postecoglou's team. Then again, listen to who you want. I've done it too. 9v11 winning 5-2 from 2-1 down at National level whilst the other team was spamming diagonals out of play. 🚑The injury crisis is worrying, but it's also a vicious circle. Majority of clubs nowadays sign players to replace injured players. If you get one or two key players injured by the extreme random demands of the game (facing a Haaland, Jackson etc... stretches your CBs to the limit - Van de Ven got muscular in game injury like Rodri got injured like Fofana got injured). 🚁💰I don't think the training methods are in question; not should they be questioned more than Pep or Maresca's who can actually afford to get replacement brought in (and still get injuries) - and never get questioned. Spurs play Gray at CB. Chelsea can afford to call Chaloback, or City sign another 40 million a piece CB. 🕳️Spurs lost Kane and finished 5th, like nothing happened. That's outstanding. 📼⛳️Training clip: possession box to create the moment to change gear and find a striker dropping off the front. What happens then is a "wave" 3v2, with decision making. Drive diagonally, straight pass for diagonal runs. Affordances (what players perceive they can play) and match realism. See the cut off corners to guarantee runs going towards goal. Can't be more modern, evidence based, empowering, enjoyable and football realistic. 🏟️🎞️Game footage: look how they're using each pass as a timeline to allow a third man popping up in space. Good reaction on turnover. See another triangle being created, with players selflessly filling in the tips of the triangle even rotating. Matar Sarr gets sucked into the space, puts an outstanding goalmouth delivery with presence and bodies in the box - especially at the far post. Brennan who everyone called a flop. Tremendous, organic (= player led) output. What you can do = the team's outlook. ⚽️I'm talking football there, not theory, not pattern playbook, not fiscal optimisation. 📊Spurs are working on relative budget. Don't budget CL football. Spend 40% turnover on wages, when Chelsea's etc... are 70% or Leicester 120%. 🏇💉It's like the only clean horse in a race when others are stuffed with red bull, cocaine and creatine. And some of you Peaky Blinders are looking everywhere - even if you saw the episode where they stuff the horse to make it win.
