Mayor Zohran Mamdani just announced plans to fast-track more low-income housing in NYC. While building additional affordable units sounds good on paper, New Yorkers are right to ask: Where are the priorities? The city is projected to spend over $1 billion this year on services for illegal immigrants — money that could go toward housing, schools, and resources for American citizens and legal residents. If we enforced our laws and prioritized deportation of those here illegally, there would be more housing availability and far more resources for actual New Yorkers. Hi Abbie! Here’s some clarification… Our concerns: 1. Immigration puts pressure on housing, specifically the rental market, and contributes to housing stress. 2. Immigration puts pressure on wage growth, specifically lower skilled and already low paying jobs. 3. Immigration with no anti-ethnic clustering policies result in reduced social cohesion and the degradation of our culture. To summarise, cost of living pressure from mass immigration is very real and in addition to that we are concerned about the real time loss of the what once was a potent Australian identity. Solutions / Demands: 1. Reduce temporary visa holders by atleast 1 million. 2. Link immigration to a national housing affordability index. 3. Implement social integration policies for new arrivals along with anti-ethnic clustering policies. Immigrants aren’t the problem, our immigration program is! Hope that helps Ms Chatfield! Today, thousands of members of our community joined together to say no to building a men’s shelter next to our schools, daycare centers, and senior centers. Together, we are calling for more affordable housing, senior housing, mental health services, and improving our programs that will help keep hardworking New Yorkers off the streets. I would like to thank Assembly member Colton for joining me in organizing this rally and for joining me in calling for an end to this shelter’s construction.

San Francisco’s economy is recovering, and people want to be here again. As we continue to build that momentum, we need to make sure that San Franciscans feel the benefits and can continue to raise their kids in this incredible city. We need to build housing, we need to create jobs, and we need to keep bringing people back downtown, our front door to the world and the economic engine for our city. That’s why today I am proud to announce the BUILD Act with Supervisor Bilal Mahmood—a legislative package that will unlock stalled housing projects and create thousands of good union jobs. The BUILD Act will reform the transfer tax to incentivize investment in these housing projects and buildings downtown—stimulating new jobs for electricians, plumbers, and laborers. And we will put forward a ballot measure in November to ensure that transfer tax is paid on properties in foreclosure so we can offset revenue impacts. Our politicians used to take our workers and our families for granted. But those politicians are gone, and those days are over. We are now creating the conditions for our city’s success. By passing the BUILD Act, we will take the next step, creating the jobs and building the housing that San Franciscans deserve.

In less than a month I’ve gotten two new jobs, a new baby kitty that is so insanely loving and literally just landed in my life, incredible new clients that I am so excited to work with, I’ve remained sober through one of the most challenging things I’ve ever been faced with, as well as abstinent from other “worldly temptations”, I’ve connected with the MOST incredible sponsor and therapist for myself, both of which cost me nothing. The amount of blessings and growth that has taken place is more than I can truly explain. Every way I turn there is something to be grateful for. God is so good. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. 🤍🦃
