Just returned from Budapest and was beyond impressed by their new construction. Wonderful city, with the most pleasant and polite people. We could certainly learn from them in how to develop a city with taste and style - was very liveable and of a human scale

Sir John Betjeman said,"The problem with modern architecture is it dates very quickly." How right he was. Classical architecture like this is beautiful, and regardless of what anyone says, modern architecture is ugly and soul destroying.

It is not a new building. It was deconstructed in 1963 and now will be reconstructed. If it was a new building, it would be kitsch and therefore had no right to exist. It would be glittering of history and telling a history that never existed. Like Skopje 2014.
