Bill Maher: “What does the panel think of the recent shakeup at 60 Minutes? I'm for it. Good night!” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT): “You’re watching a censorship state be created
[Trump] is using regulatory powers to punish people who oppose him." Bill Maher: “That’s a big charge that you just made, that 60 Minutes itself and CBS itself is now completely MAGA. I don’t see it that way.” Chris Murphy: “It’s not completely MAGA.” Bill Maher: “Well, it’s kind of what you said.” Chris Murphy: “[Trump] is clearly intent on installing people who will tell his story and will keep his critics off the air.” Bill Maher: “Let me ask you this question. I watch 60 Minutes every week. I have since I was a kid. If I didn’t hear all the buzz in the media
would I ever notice that it was any different? I don’t think I would. Would you?” Chris Murphy: “Part of what the allegation is, is that they are killing stories that would be embarrassing for the president. So it’s hard to know what you’re missing in a censorship environment.” Bill Maher: “But I’ve seen ones that are not very favorable to the president
I don’t know if I would have noticed anything different if I hadn’t been reading about it. Also, I just don’t think that being a 60 Minutes correspondent is that hard. I don’t feel like Scott Pelley was a national treasure. Companies change hands all the time. I never liked him, sorry, I never did
‘Oh my God. 60 Minutes has a new cast.’ So does Saturday Night Live.” “I’m not going to make that decision until I see a smoking g*n... ‘Tick, tick, tick, Candace Owens and Alex Jones on 60 Minutes.’”

Bill Maher repeatedly swats down Democrat senator’s claim that Trump is hijacking 60 Minutes to “tell his story.” No matter which direction Chris Murphy turned, Maher kept getting in his way. MURPHY: “You’re watching a censorship state... Actor David Cross challenged Bill Maher to name ONE thing President Trump has been right about. Maher obliged him and then took a sledgehammer to Cross’s political ideology, exposing how far left he has fallen. CROSS: “He just said something...umm...and was almost like a freudian slip...not freudian slip but a...he...ahh f*ck...I shouldn’t say anything when I don’t have the...” MAHER: “Yeah, I think I know what you’re getting at.” “The Trump administration are not people who care about saying the quiet part out loud.” “In fact, it’s their superpower in some ways, it’s like that’s what makes MAGA fans go, finally!” “Somebody said it, somebody’s got the balls and sometimes it’s not wrong.” CROSS: “What has Trump been right on?” MAHER: “Well, I think he was right to attack Iran.” CROSS: “Oh, I highly disagree.” MAHER: “Yeah, I know. I figured you would.” CROSS: “What do you mean?! Why?” MAHER: “Because I think, I do think of you as sort of that like ‘down the line’ liberal. Like down the line, left.” CROSS: “I mean in some ways, I’m definitely, I mean I’m politically more Democrat Socialist. I believe...” MAHER: “See! Socialist.” “Again, I think you’re, plainly then, you’re to the left of me if you EVEN say you’re a socialist.”

NEW: Kid Rock hijacks the conversation as Bill Maher freaks out about Trump serving a third term. BILL MAHER: “I tell you what makes me a little not calm. Trump keeps joking—‘joking’—about a third term. Get it? Democracy’s over.” KID ROCK: “I haven’t heard that.” BILL MAHER: “You haven’t heard that? He does it all the time. He does it all the time.” KID ROCK: “Well, he likes to joke. I know he’s funny as shit. But. I’m telling you, the guy’s hilarious. He’s so fun to hang out with.” BILL MAHER: “Yeah, I bet he is fun to hang out with. But you don’t think he’s serious about that?” KID ROCK: “No.” BILL MAHER “And if he was, would that be a break for you? Would anything make you break? If he said, ‘No, I’m going to be against our Constitution, what we’ve had for many years.’ You cannot run for a third term. If he said, ‘No, I’m staying.’ Would that break?” KID ROCK: “Under current circumstances? If things are going along the way they’ve been going along, yes. If he’s like, ‘I’m running for a third term,’ I’d be like, ‘Whoa, whoa, pump the brakes, man. Hold on a second.’” BILL MAHER: “So he could lose Kid Rock.” KID ROCK: “Be very tough. Be very, very tough. Very, very tough. I told you before, which is probably going to shock your audience: I don’t like Trump. I f*cking love Trump.” BILL MAHER: “I know you do.”

Bill Maher DEFENDS Charlie Kirk after actor David Cross tried to paint him as racist. Maher refused to let Cross run away with the narrative. MAHER: “But like the the the rank and file Republican, I don’t think is a racist.” “I think you can get them into positions that look racist, but I don’t think in their bones they’re like what the racists kind of what I grew up was like a racist was somebody who didn’t want to shake a black person’s hand.” CROSS: “Yes...I don’t think that’s a thing, but I think there is...I mean I know there is because they say as much.” “There’s a feeling, a sense that...uh...I mean like Charlie Kirk stuff that women and black people and black women especially are just not...” “I’m not being an a**hole guys, I’m just saying they don’t have the mental, you know...” MAHER: “There was a little more [to it].” “I read that when he died, of course lots of places put his greatest hits...worst hits, worst things.” “And then somebody else printed something and this is what always happens with the media like I never trust it because you never get the full story, where like each one was put in with the full context.” “It was never quite as bad as they said.” CROSS: “I mean, context is everything, right?” MAHER: “It is. I’m just saying it was easy to pull from his quote bed and find stuff that I certainly don’t agree with even in the context, but it wasn’t quite what...it wasn’t quite what you were saying there.”

Bill Maher confronts a college president over how liberal professors have turned Israel and Western civilization into slurs on campus. He reminded him that Western civilization gave everyone who is a progressive "the things they should be most proud of." The president pushed back and said: No, college professors are totally teaching Western civilization = good. Maher didn’t believe him. Bill Maher: “Since I have been covering news and especially the Middle East, even before that, Israel was known as an ‘outpost of Western civilization.’” Michael Roth: “Yes, it was.” Maher: “And that’s what it was called. That was always a good thing. Now, I don’t think it is. I did an editorial here one night talking about that. The Western civilization, they talk about it like it’s a bad thing. Instead of saying Western civilization is what gave everyone who is a progressive the things they should be most proud of.” Roth: “And I think that a lot of our students learn just that in class.” Maher: “The professors are teaching that message? I think they’re learning it from my show. I don’t think the professors are teaching. I really don’t.” Roth: “I think they are learning it from your show, of course. But the professors watch your show too. Maybe even more often than an 18-year-old.” Maher: “Do you think I could come on campus and speak and be welcomed?” Roth: “Welcomed, maybe not, but certainly—” Maher: “Really?” Roth: “No, but certainly given a hearing.” Maher: “I shouldn’t be welcomed? Someone who twice gave the Democrats a million dollars- that’s not enough credentials to come on and be welcomed?” Roth: “Well, if you came to Wesleyan with a million dollars, I would welcome you with open arms.” Maher: “Okay. Right. Well, I’m not going to be doing that.” A 2018 National Association of Scholars study of 51 top-ranked liberal arts colleges found faculty Democrats outnumber Republicans 10.4 to 1. At 39% of those schools, there was NOT A SINGLE registered Republican among full-time professors.

Bill Maher asks Ana Kasparian which Middle Eastern country she would feel comfortable wearing “that dress” and then this happened. MAHER: “If you had to live in the Middle East. Any city. Where would you live where you’d be comfortable in that dress?” ANA: “I’m sure I would not be comfortable in this dress in any of the various Middle Eastern countries that have been destabilized by—” MAHER INTERRUPTS: “Really? You’re not really blaming it on whitey, are you? You’re blaming Islam on whitey?” ANA: “I’m not blaming Islam on whitey.” MAHER: “But what you’re saying is we destabilize? That’s why you can’t wear that dress?” ANA: “Did we destabilize?” MAHER: “Wait a second.” ANA: “We were funding terrorist organizations in Syria during the Syrian civil war starting under the Obama administration.” MAHER: “We’re talking about your dress.” ANA: “It looks good, I know.” MAHER: “You’re saying you can’t wear that dress in Syria because of whitey destabilizing?” ANA: “I didn’t say that.” MAHER: “Okay, that’s what it sounded like
When I asked about the dress, you went right to destabilize. So is that why you couldn’t wear that dress?” ANA: “You want me to talk about jihadism and Islam.” MAHER: “Why won’t you? Why won’t you?” ANA: “I don’t believe in jihadism, which is why I’m furious the United States just had significant Al Qaeda terrorists in the White House.” MAHER: “But it’s not just jihadism that is preventing you from wearing that dress there. Are you saying every Muslim is a jihadist? I don’t think they are.” ANA: “Bill. Bill, Bill, Bill. Let’s focus for a second.” MAHER: “No, you won’t answer this question.”
