The technology has already helped people with severe paralysis use computers and phones again. Musk says it could eventually help people walk by bypassing damaged areas of the spinal cord. Neuralink is also working toward restoring vision, even for people who no longer have functioning optic nerves or eyes. Early restored vision may begin at low resolution before improving dramatically over time. Musk believes the technology could eventually enable vision beyond normal human capability.
