This is Jump Ship. A 4 player co-op PvE indie game by a new indie studio created by Former Minecraft developers: - FPS PvE with Space Ship Combat - Seamlessly go on and off ship, into space exploration into enemy ships, the gameplay looks insanely impressive. - A variety hand crafted missions with random elements. "No two runs will be exactly the same" - Upgrade & Repir your ship - Scavenge for parts to upgrade or repair it, and adapt it to fit your needs. - Playable in both Solo and Coop - Coming to Xbox and PC (Unfortunately no PS5 release) - Demo available on Steam right now! This game looks genuinely incredible and I will definitely be trying out the demo as soon as I am free, there's a bunch of Hazelight (A Way Out, It Takes Two) developers on this as well, I really think this has the potential to be one of the biggest co-op games we've seen in a long time.

5 Facts you didn't want to know about Alien Breed for the Commodore Amiga Alien Breed (1991) is a landmark Amiga title that defined Team17’s early style: tense, atmospheric, and brutally addictive. It was perfect for co-op gaming with mates. Programmed by Andreas Tadic and Peter Tuleby, with graphics by Rico Holmes and iconic music by Allister Brimble. 1. Top-down run-and-gun sci-fi shooter heavily inspired by Aliens: You (and a friend in co-op) explore an infested space station, blasting xenomorph-like aliens (I originally thought they were aliens) while managing limited ammo and health. It mixes fast arcade action with tense resource management. 2. Team17’s breakthrough hit: This was only their second game, after Full Contact, and their first full-price release. It put the UK developer and publisher on the map, before they became famous for the Worms series. 3. Extremely well-received on Amiga: Launched to critical acclaim, with many magazines scoring it 85–91% (CVG 91%, Zero 91%, CU Amiga 90%, Amiga Action 87%). It was usually praised for its smooth multi-directional scrolling, atmosphere, co-op play, and technical excellence on the Amiga. 4. It was one of the first major RTS games set in the ancient world (Stone Age to Iron Age) - earlier games were mainly set in fantasy or sci-fi worlds. Critics praised its historically authentic feel. The “Ages” progression system - unlocking new technologies, units, and buildings as you advanced through the ages - was first introduced in Age of Empires and is now a near-standard feature in most RTS games. Twelve civilizations, each with unique strengths and weaknesses, distinct architecture, units, tech trees, and gameplay-affecting bonuses, not just cosmetic differences. Rich features for its time: randomly generated maps for endless variety, multiplayer (up to 8 players via LAN or internet), a scenario editor for modding and custom maps, and solo campaigns based on historical figures and events. It won numerous awards, including many Game of the Year titles, and sold far beyond expectations. And here we are, almost 30 years later… By the way, whoever came up with the monk and “wololo” - pure genius. Some sounds have become absolute pop culture classics!

Alien Isolation 2 hands-on previews are out and it's looking just as tense as the first one - my favorite horror game of all time. ▫️ Story is set a few months after the first game ▫️ New protagonist named Blake ▫️ The Xenomorph is fully unscripted once again, dynamically hunting the player based on sound and movement ▫️ Amanda Ripley isn't playable, but she does narrate some scenes ▫️ Game features both exterior and interior environments. How such a great game as Battle Isle II (Blue Byte, 1994) still had so little commercial success boggles my mind to this day. Maybe it was the limited market - developed by a German studio primarily known in Germany - or the lack of marketing power, who knows. It certainly wasn’t the gameplay, which was simply excellent for a turn-based strategy game. It even innovated some features, such as being the first CD-ROM strategy game to feature 3D combat animations and unit displays using raytracing and vector graphics. Granted, that was “just” eye candy, but it set the game apart from others in the genre that could sometimes feel a bit dry to non-experts. It also offered a huge variety of units for air, sea, and ground combat, including 12 experience levels for each unit (greatly affecting battle outcomes). Controls were easy enough for new players to learn quickly, maps varied greatly in size and terrain (requiring different strategies), and the pixel-style in-game cutscenes were a nice touch. I couldn’t get enough of the Battle Isle series (1, 2 and 3 were all great, plus Incubation, which was a later spin-off). This series is gravely underrated and overlooked, one of my all-time favourites, and yet I wonder if many non-German players have ever even heard of it.
