For the #LacingNerds I tried the "Heel slipping" one of these and was really pleased when it worked!

Professir Roberts, this is unbelievably timely. I have the constant problem of laces becoming undone! I am going to visit the Rift Valley, Kenya, where you were practicing making tools from stones. My birthplace and origin of "out of Africa".

Another trick to try, put a couple of twists after the eyelets/before the hooks. It allows you to have a different tension between the foot part and the ankle. Good if you like a bit more toe-wiggle room and tighter ankles or vice versa

OMG! I only know one way! 60 years of doing my own and now you throw THAT into the works! 😲

In addition to the surgeons knot to start the bow, you can tie a locking bow by just looping twice around the held loop. The result won’t work loose, but can be trivially undone as usual, removing the need to tie the loops of the bow together (which can be awkward to undo).

You obviously need to do an entire program about all the different knots that have tied the world together!

So pleased you reduced the loops. We had one of our Scouts fall on his face and break his nose, catching the clips of one boot in the loops of the other. He was laden with a full pack and had his hands in his pockets. Not a mistake to be repeated 🤪

Oh no! Poor thing. Hope he’s well mended now.

Hi Alice. Wear quality Italian leather boots every day of the year. Come rain snow sunshine. cattle yards in the muck in winter. All summer. Loads of walking. Even in the mountains of the Pyrenees. Never had a lace come undone. 2 pair. Alternate them every other day

They look like lovely boots! What make are they?
