new experiment: "smart" forms (for onboarding, wizards, etc) LLMs aren't just about chat based conversations; here I'm using an LLM/web search to infer form values while onboarding on to new app/service called Trellis. With just a name and company, it can guess some fields and values that can dramatically...

I’m actually quite surprised no one else has copied it, seems super natural and worth it to kick up conversion. loved your earlier iteration on it.

maybe cloudflare can be the one to build a new "gravatar for work" that lets me put my name, job title, location, etc instead of every company doing LLM web searches

this is cool! im launching a product for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) - and we made our onboarding ~conversational~ no forms. just a conversation to get you up and running. in our space, most people are already using either another software or spreadsheets to do their work. so we are using LLMs to help us intake ANY csv/excel and map it to our internal schema. (this makes moving to our software super simple). been HUGE for our adoption and winning competitive deals. (using durable objects [d12s lol] btw 😉) hope you've been well since last chatting in miami! would love to connect again.

Super nice use case , but this would work well only for cases where there are defined fields/templates (e.g as described onboarding) Would be interesting for govt. agencies & educational institutions to try this out first

i think Poke / the email assistants really have the most magical experience here bc they just get so much data for free that you didn't even realize was in your email

this made me think of browsers filling fields like credit card or billing address automatically for you seems like implementing the llm user-side will have much more information than trying to guess from the app side? obviously a good way to start by doing it this way

Love it and what am working on is similar space but a personal pack mcp server which agent can interact with and get curated data that will help fill forms Esp hospital forms as am in and out of surgeries in the past 1 yr and most annoying is to fill hospital forms

Really like this. I've been experimenting with a similar concept for one of my projects where a typical business onboarding would be multiple weeks as it traditionally relied on tons of manual input. Haven't been able to get it to be fully reliable yet given the wide variance in how the businesses make their public data available, but it's looking very promising.

Profilbild von sunil pai

one idea I had was whether there are just docs/pdfs they can drag and drop that might help. like, tax siets kinda already do this, as do hiring platforms

Profilbild von Michael Flux
Michael Fluxvor 1 Monat

In my use case, it's trying to import data from a mix of third party calendar/schedule iframes, pdfs, screenshots of giant spreadsheets etc. A big annoyance actually has been that for part of it I've been using Cloudflare Browser to take screenshots for parsing, but as it self reports as bot operated browser (as it should, not saying its CF's fault), many websites are actively blocking from even being able to visit a page. So having to find workarounds where I have to be running a regular machine elsewhere to which I can send requests and on it I can jut be operating a chrome instance which isn't as upfront about who is controlling it - then send screenshots back from it into my parsing pipeline. Luckily not an expensive workaround as even some old $200 laptop will easily be handling thousands of screenshot requests daily while using few dollars of electricity per month, but just wish I could avoid the extra failure points.

Profilbild von sunil pai
sunil paivor 1 Monat

yeah sorry about that, Cloudflare (as far I know) will never do the “stealth” browser thing as other people call it, but thankfully there are workarounds/other services for that atm

Profilbild von Michael Flux
Michael Fluxvor 1 Monat

Oh yeah, definitely not blaming Cloudflare for it - I would far rather the company operates as it does not, rather than allowing for bot farms to run rampant on it as many other providers are happy to do. In general has been an absolute delight working with CF across the entire product stack - from domains to workers, D1, DO, KV, queues, RLs, AI gateway etc. After using AWS across countless projects since probably 2010, been so nice using CF for the past year where managing infra doesn't become a full time job on day 1.

But curious @ruifigueira @kathyyliao - can confirm the policies around that? ☝️any difference in policies between Browser Run and Kitesurf?

Currently experimenting with a similar realtime wizard pattern in customizing specs. Ex: using a spec that builds a "family hub" but families take lots of shapes and sizes, so how do you build out that spec to make assumptions on what you need in your hub. codemode for specs.

Possibly the biggest change in Microsoft Teams history? Teams without the Teams? Public preview in November to desktop, mobile, iOS, and Android. Here is what you need to know: 🟣 Microsoft is introducing a new combined chat and channels experience. Meaning chat and teams/channels will show up under the "Chat" sidebar icon. No more dedicated Teams sidebar button. 🟣 Teams and Channels will have their own section in chat. 🟣 Group your chats and/or channels however best works for you with favourites and custom sections (up to 50 sections and 50 items per section) 🟣 “Unread,” “Chat,” “Channels,” “Meetings,” and “Muted” Filters 🟣 New message can initiate a new chat or new channel post 🟣 New Mention view gathers all your mentions into a single interactive list. 🟣 At launch, a self-service, guided onboarding will help users discover the new experience and configure it to their preferences (on or off) 🟣 Users who prefer to keep chat and channels separate can easily do so during the onboarding process or at any time later. So far, it looks like there are no IT/tenant-level override controls. This experience change is targeted at getting more users using teams/channels. Most Teams users live in "chats", not teams/channels. There will undoubtedly be some pushback from users who use teams/channels well and like having the mental separation of teams/channels vs chats. I've been fortunate to be using it for a while, and I'm personally a big fan; my use of the correct channels has gone way up, and now I can find them all in one place in the app, particularly on mobile. I'm now much more likely to see channel conversations I need to see. What do you think? #MicrosoftTeams #Microsoft365
