A shameful video emerged from Rajapur town of Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra. You can see the crowd, during holi celebrations that when people carrying Shimga (a wooden structure) reached near the mosque, they tried to push the Shimga inside the Masjid gate. Shimga went inside the gate of the mosque by about 3 to 4 feet. Not once but twice. Many in the crowd and the police present there did try to stop the mob. But weren't successful. National media as always ignores such incidents or justifies it.

It is claimed that they played loud, provocative songs in an attempt to distract worshippers and provoke tension. The procession was reportedly taken out on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Jayanti. The mosque committee appealed to the 4,000–5,000 people who had gathered for Taraweeh to maintain peace and calm. The Muslim community remained peaceful and did not react to the provocation. Police arrived at the scene and reportedly dispersed those attempting to disturb the atmosphere near the mosque. Members of the mosque committee later informed the media that the prayers were completed peacefully and that law and order remained under control.
