Over the past number of days, I have spoken with many families whose loved ones are in the Middle East. I am in ongoing contact with the Irish and British governments and I am working to support our citizens in the region. This war is reckless and irresponsible. Further escalation, including the involvement of the British government, reflects a dangerous disregard for international law. I will not be part of any briefing by the British government on their military operations. My priority is the safety and wellbeing of our citizens. I will update you as soon as there is further information.

President Trump announces a historic cease-fire between Israel/iran has been reached… CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR.” This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD! DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF

We should have absolute clarity.’ 🎥🎤Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly BL tells Chief Reporter James that “spoofing” is not the type of language she would use. She was responding to comments made by First Minister Michelle O’Neill. The First Minister said she believes the DUP and its leader, Gavin Robinson, are “spoofing” when it comes to questioning Sinn Féin’s support for policing. Emma Little-Pengelly says people want politicians to take things seriously, and there must be consistent support for the PSNI every day, including on recruitment and at events.

🚨 ‼️John Mearsheimer 🚨"FIRED "🚨Donald Trump No signs of quick end to US-Israel war on Iran First of all, this argument that, Iran is a great threat to stability in the Middle East, and a serious threat to the United States is nonsense. The greatest threat to stability in the Middle East is the United States, working closely together, with Israel. Iran has not started a war, in centuries as best I can tell. It's not a highly aggressive country. The country in the Middle East that aggressive is Israel. The country that has, committed genocide in Gaza is not Iran, it's Israel, and we were complicit. We meaning the United States is complicit in genocide. Twice, once last year in June of twenty twenty-five and again on February 28th of this year, the United States and Israel launched unprovoked attacks against Iran. So the idea that Iran is this great destabilizer in the Middle East is a myth that the United States and Israel purvey. The Israelis and the Americans are now doing to deal with this purported Iranian threat, what you see is we've taken measures that have made the situation much worse. In fact, one could argue that we are going to crash the international economy as a result of this war that Israel and the United States started. I would make the argument that we are on the edge of the precipice, in terms of the state of the world economy because of this war. This war shows no, signs of ending anytime soon, and already great damage has been done to the international economy, and more damage will be done the longer the war goes on. So this idea that, number one, Iran is a great threat to the United States is bogus, and number two, the idea that President Trump, and his friends in Israel are making, a safer and more stable Middle East is a ludicrous argument. In fact, what they're doing is they're putting the entire world, on the precipice of a disaster.

Iran FM Spox in response to claim that Saudi Arabia is preventing the US from attacking Iran: It is a positive thing that all countries in the region recognize that they will be affected by the future situation in the region. The war of the United States against Iran is a war against the entire region. Over the past 5 months, we have witnessed that the presence of the United States in the region has increased insecurity and instability. It is natural for countries to try to prevent the escalation of insecurity, but experience has shown that nothing deters the enemy except the power and deterrent capability of Iran.

Michelle O’Neill said she would not block Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly from attending if she wishes to do so. Sinn Féin Party President Mary Lou McDonald said it was important her party uses its voice to “demand that international law is upheld”. She said the situation in Gaza and the West Bank “remains dire”, adding that Israeli attacks on Gaza had continued despite talks of a ceasefire.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran will not stop the war immediately. The war will expand as it did in Ukraine and be prolonged, which will push global oil prices to $200. This could lead to a worldwide food shortage. The United States is stuck in this war. If it ends it, Iran will demand compensation for its losses and insist on the U.S. withdrawing from the Middle East. If the U.S. withdraws from the Gulf, the petrodollar deal, which the American economy depends on, could end, and then no one will buy oil from Arab countries in dollars. — Chinese-Canadian Professor Chang, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson

🚫🗣NEW: 'We won’t take lectures from the British Government… No London Gov has ever acted in our best interests and never will.' 🎥🎤First Minister Michelle O’Neill sitting down with Chief Reporter James ahead of the British-Irish Council, where she will meet Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. She says she will communicate the “anger” here following the Budget, describing it as a “missed opportunity." She claims there has been “spin” around the Budget, but argues it still leaves Stormont’s finances in a poor state. Michelle O’Neill says many people have “had enough” of disappointment and want something better. Which she believes is a united Ireland. The UK Government said that Stormont would receive an extra £370 million to spend. However Finance Minister John O' Dowd said just £18.8 million would come in the current financial year and it fell "far short of what is needed to support the delivery of frontline public services." The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Hilary Benn, told this station it is a “fair Budget for Northern Ireland, good for families, public services and business”. On the additional £370m for the Executive, he says it comes on the back of a record settlement. He also welcomed talk of revenue raising.
