Whenever you see a Great Blue Heron with its head buried in the weeds, you never really know what’s about to pop up. This time it was a furry little creature, baring its rodent teeth in what may have been a final act of defiance. The heron? Unbothered. I’ve seen these birds catch and eat all sorts of things and this is one of the most brutal. A stark reminder of just how savage these birds can be. And I don’t mean that as an insult. The heron, one of my all time favorite birds, has to eat too. In fact, I’ve always thought they deserve a spot among the birds of prey and I’m so very glad they aren’t 10 meters tall. We would be on the menu for sure. If you know what this little hamster-looking creature is, let me know.

The dodo was a giant pigeon. And bringing it back isn’t just about one iconic bird we kind of all want to see. It’s about unlocking new tools for birds across the board, stuff that could actually help protect the species that are still here. So yeah. Save the birds. Let’s go.

Joy descended into horror at the arrival of first swifts. Exhausted birds arrived back to new soffits blocking it's nest. Tried for almost 4 hours to get in. Caller provide & installed by wonderful neighbours who have open eaves. Birds will be back tomorrow. 🥺

One of the most interesting creative choices on ‘Let God Sort Em Out’ is starting with the very personal ‘Birds Don’t Sing’ and then moving into arguably the most aggressive 4 track run on the album. Here’s why Clipse did that: “It was the hardest record to make. When we cracked that code, we were like ‘This has to start the album’…I wanna see how it touches people from the jump, and then get into everything else.”
