The only crime of these people is that they are poor! People are being indiscriminately evicted from multiple stations and adjoining slum areas across West Bengal, which fall under railway land. They are not even being given the bare minimum time to make alternative arrangements. Even last night, ruthless bulldozers rolled through Dum Dum and Uttarpara stations. Yet, far from taking responsibility for these people, no BJP representative made the slightest effort to discuss or arrange alternative housing or livelihoods for them!
