Fair enough, Welcome back Quarry from buildcraft

Simpler times, I miss it

Couldn’t you just lift it up and fling it into the sunset to make it someone else’s problem

But I *want* it

As someone who's not touched create, I am so very confused and somewhat scared about the fact you can now do this xD

= )

@Bant_02 Guys don't trust this guy he's a partygoer only partygoers use this emoji Actually no, I take it back. He's a normal human being =)

@Bant_02 the fuck is a partygoer?

@Pocapka

I'm wondering how you could do this in survival, that's gotta weigh thousands of kpg. you could maybe overengineer a massive drone but you'd need a ton of lift to get those chunks off the ground. then again the concept is awesome so its probably worth it

The thought I had was to have the actual drill pit be a vehicle, undercut a chunk and then make it a physics object to drop it straight down into the pit

that'd be the easiest way to do it practically I think. the "picking it up and dropping it in a dedicated paper shredder" technique is much funnier though

Truuuue Time to build either an enormous moving crane, or a helicopter with the lift of a 747

with the drone technique you could have an automatic guidance system to drop off the load

... my god. Must. Not. Procrastinate.

could you build a large enough crane to pick that chunk up in create?

yes

Paper shredding minecraft chunks this is the funniest thing I've seen in a couple days and I needed it

I genuinely don't understand how this is accomplished in a voxel engine. They have to be seamlessly converted to entities, but the scope of the changes to the entity system would have to be ridiculous to accomplish this.

The blocks are technically warped extremely far away and then re-rendered as an entity at its original position as far as I know But beyond that, absolute witchcraft

@Denamic3 thats for vs, this uses sable which has an extra dimension for the shups

@Denamic3 I thought Sable just does co-ords too? Didn't know it was another dimension

I think that you could do a line of drills on a mechanical bearing so that it picks up the blocks too. Really cool design tho!

I have a redesign in mind where instead of trying to pick up a chunk, you undercut it, slide the drill pit under it and then drop the chunk in

Oh thats sick, i was wondering how this would work in survival and getting an airship, parking it, taking a chunk out then hauling it seems like too much work

Seems like a lot of work, but a LOT of fun lmao Get like 3 ships in multiplayer and try to haul chunks to feed the big drill machine

Ok u got me that does sound like fun

I haven't tried the mod yet. Can the physics objects have active drills? because if so I imagine a solution where you fly around, drop little drill drones and later pick them back up with a crane lol

They can indeed

Why don’t you create the opposite? A drill machine that’s it’s own physics object that you can just throw anywhere and it mines everything it touches

Borg method of mining

I've never played this mod but why not just drop the grinder upside down onto the chunk?

Too boreing

The bunnies are so interested

Why not using the flink mechanism? It would make it a lot faster

That is certainly a word. No idea what it means however.

Planet cracking time

someone's gotta find a way to do this in survival

@TheRealTrueCore already found a way

i mined like that and found a funny looking obelisc, should i be woried?

Close enough, welcome back USG Ishimura.

How the fuck does that not instantly crash the game

Now to make a system that you can dock these giant chunks of earth to move it all without a physics gun.

on it

Bro reinvented planet cracking

USG Ishmura

literal chunk mining

your mind is amazing

"hey let me take a slice" aaa method

w bnuys

think I remember hearing about something like this in one of those pyramid conspiracy theory videos

I would assume you can create what would essentially be …a planet miner?

cause we often mining in creative mode

It's doable in survival

Ah yes, marble mining method
