NEW VEHICLE REGISTRATION PLATES LAUNCHED IN GAUTENG To assist if combating crime in Gauteng. The new Gauteng license plate system, including its QR code and tamper-evident decal, is designed to combat crime by improving vehicle identification and traceability. By linking the QR code to a database, authorities can quickly verify ownership, licensing status, and stolen vehicle alerts, thus eliminating fraudulent plates. The tamper-evident decal further prevents plate swapping and cloning, making it harder for criminals to use fake or duplicated plates in crimes.

🚨UPDATE: A few years ago, Uganda Government through Ministry of works and Transport introduced what they termed as "Digital Number plates" According to the government the essence of introducing digital number plates was to fight criminality because they are trackable/monitored. Digital number plates (ITMS) in Uganda cost UGX 714,300 for new vehicle registration. For existing vehicle owners replacing their old plates, the cost is UGX 150,000 for cars and UGX 50,000 for motorcycles. Now thugs stole someone's number plates when he reported the case to police and URA here is the response he got👇

Nashon Kondiwa: The dealer's plate is for licensed dealers. The issue of KD plates is not, for me, a very big conversation. Since I became DG, I have tried to clean up the backlog of plates, which I found to be over 30,000 plates that Kenyans have paid for but have never been printed. As we speak, I have 5000 in three months, and this has impacted the cash flows and delays that we are currently experiencing, though we will sort it out within the next 3 days #CitizenMondayReport

Today, the UCP will be unveiling new Alberta licence plates emblazoned with the UCP party slogan. I have a message for our Premier: “Danielle, your authoritarianism is showing.” Blurring the lines between party and province is a very Trumpian thing to do. Big red flag.

Mumbai Pune Expressway - A vehicle allegedly running with concealed number plates has raised serious concerns over traffic enforcement and public safety. The vehicle is accused of openly flouting traffic rules, with its hidden registration plates making it difficult to identify and potentially allowing it to evade accountability in cases such as hit-and-run incidents or other criminal activities. Despite having 55 pending traffic challans amounting to more than ₹1 lakh, the vehicle has reportedly continued to operate on the roads. The pending offences include dangerous driving, overspeeding and illegal number plates, among other violations. The case has also raised questions over the effectiveness of traffic enforcement, with concerns that repeated violations have gone unchecked despite the vehicle's extensive record. The authorities are now facing criticism over why the vehicle has not been seized despite the large number of pending challans and repeated alleged violations.

We launched Diia, Ukraine's main platform for digital public services, four years ago today. Almost two of those years have seen a full-scale war. But Diia has endured, is growing, and will become even stronger. There are currently 14 digital documents on smartphones and over 130 online services. We are now launching a new service in Diia: the exchange of housing certificates. It will be online already this week and will then scale up. Tonight, an online service for buying and selling cars in Diia will be activated. In just 15 minutes, you will be able to buy or sell a car using your smartphone and receive a new vehicle registration document and license plates by mail. We believe in our strength. We defend our state and work for our country. “Diia” means “act” in Ukrainian. And we do act—this is the point.

Russian President Putin: "Yes, Western sponsors are supplying a large number of drones of various types, including long-range ones. Some of them, unfortunately for us, are being breaking through. But Russia has a system of air defense. Yes, we must strengthen it, and we will do so, but Ukraine does not have such a system at all. There are just separate elements, but there is no system. There are Patriots, other systems that are being supplied, which are also catastrophically lacking, but there is no system as such. There are no strike systems like those that the Russian Federation has. I mean hypersonic missiles, cruise missiles, and naval, air, and land-based missiles. And there is something else that is the most important. There is patriotism and the will of the Russian people, which is the main condition. We are prepared for the achievement of all the goals and objectives of the special military operation."

There seems to be an increase in the number of hit-and-run accidents, with more motorists reporting that drivers are fleeing the scene after a collision. In this video, a motorist from Bindura says a double-cab vehicle with no number plates hit his vehicle before fleeing the scene. In another incident, one of our followers shared that he witnessed a hit & run yesterday along Seke Road. According to him, the offending vehicle was driving on the wrong side of the road when it hit a black Toyota Vanguard before speeding away. The offending vehicle was identified as a white Nissan Caravan with registration number AFM 6700. We hope this information will reach the Vanguard driver and they will be able to identify the vehicle involved. Zimbabwe Republic Police

Make me understand, so Wavamunno was making Uganda's car number plates for over 20 years and everything was smooth, employing Ugandans, however, they had to give the new contract to Russian company that even has no record of making needles, you cannot Google it beyond Ugandan press, it's also taking 80% of auto EPS money away from Uganda 🤦🤦🤦 When old number plates are stopped, all Ugandans Wavamunno employees to manufacture plates will lose jobs, bonds already cannot sell cars due to delays in plates🤦🤦 So, where's BUBU? You can't write these things man.
