Nashon Kondiwa: The dealer's plate is for licensed dealers. The issue of KD plates is not, for me, a very big conversation. Since I became DG, I have tried to clean up the backlog of plates, which I found to be over 30,000 plates that Kenyans have paid for but have never been printed. As we speak, I have 5000 in three months, and this has impacted the cash flows and delays that we are currently experiencing, though we will sort it out within the next 3 days #CitizenMondayReport

This is how low Zimbabwe has sunk … Zanu PF Harare Province youth chairman Emmanuel Mahachi’s Toyota Fortuner is captured on camera in Masvingo without a number plate, third number plate and insurance. In place of the number plate is a sticker which says sanctions must go. The vehicle was being driven by a woman identified as Mahachi’s wife. In place of the third number plate and insurance is a sticker inscribed ZANU PF OFFICIAL 2024, WORKING TOWARDS VISION 2030. The law does not allow any vehicle on the road without any of these three. Asked for a comment, Mahachi initially said that his party is on anti-sanctions campaign and some vehicles were stripped of their number plates and replaced with anti-sanctions logos. He conceded that he is not paying Zimra road licence and insurance. He got angry when he realised that he was talking to Masvingo Mirror reporter and argued that the car was not his. ZRP and ZINARA have no power over Zanu PF activists and both State organs look aside as crimes are being committed. As a result, the streets are now awash with vehicles that have no number plates. We are now launching a new service in Diia: the exchange of housing certificates. It will be online already this week and will then scale up. Tonight, an online service for buying and selling cars in Diia will be activated. In just 15 minutes, you will be able to buy or sell a car using your smartphone and receive a new vehicle registration document and license plates by mail. We believe in our strength. Make me understand, so Wavamunno was making Uganda's car number plates for over 20 years and everything was smooth, employing Ugandans, however, they had to give the new contract to Russian company that even has no record of making needles, you cannot Google it beyond Ugandan press, it's also taking 80% of auto EPS money away from Uganda 🤦🤦🤦 When old number plates are stopped,all Ugandans Wavamunno employees to manufacture plates will lose jobs, bonds already cannot sell cars due to delays in plates🤦🤦 So, where's BUBU? Our criminal justice system is a three-legged bar stool. If one fails, the whole system collapses. This brings us to where we are today—New Orleans willingly handed the jail keys to those leaders who vowed to keep criminals OUT of jail. Sadly, it worked. However, the State will not sit idly by. We are taking immediate, decisive action to ensure that this never happens again. The people of Louisiana deserve not only transparency and accountability, but also a justice system that is unyielding in its commitment to public safety—and our Executive Order demands it. Enough is enough.
