"We will tax the most profitable corporations at the same rate as the radical socialist utopia of New Jersey and use those taxes to pay for things that'll improve the lives of every New Yorker." Unlike the Post, Zohran Kwame Mamdani doesn't think affordable rent should be scary.

UAW Members Stand with Zohran Mamdani for NYC Mayor When we fought for better wages and benefits—so we could afford to live and raise our families in New York—Zohran Mamdani stood with us. When we took on billion-dollar giants like Mercedes-Benz and Sony, he was right there on the picket line. Zohran fights for the working class, not the billionaire class. New Yorkers: Rank Zohran Kwame Mamdani #1 for Mayor.

Our campaign is centered on an economic agenda to lower costs and make life easier for the working people of our city. And we can fund our entire agenda by asking the wealthiest New Yorkers and most profitable corporations to pay just a little bit more in taxes.

Mamdani: What we are speaking about in this moment is a generational fiscal crisis of $5.4 billion. And when faced with this crisis, the question is: Who should pay these taxes? I believe it should be the wealthiest New Yorkers and the most profitable corporations. I believe they can afford to pay a little bit more. We are in the most expensive city in the United States of America. I firmly believe in the need to make this an affordable city. I believe we do so — and reckon with this structural crisis — by pursuing the first path: raising taxes on the richest New Yorkers and the most profitable corporations.
