Guessing app's PIN using Flipper Zero as #BadUSB This "App Locker" app protects access to user selected apps - in this case, Instagram - using PIN code. It is possible to guess it with unlimited attempts, because the app developers haven't implemented brute-force protection and even timeout after few incorrect entered passwords. The app only allows to set 4 digit PIN. This allows us to try 10,000 PINs with unlimited attempts. After every try is 0.5 second delay. Because of that, it would take us 84 minutes to rotate through all the PIN combinations. ✅If you decide to use such an app lock protector, make sure not to use easy to guess and common passwords. If you are a developer, I advise you to implement a brute-force protection that includes timeout. #FlipperZero #Android #bruteforce

Recently, I discovered a campaign spreading via Telegram Mini Apps. In fact, a threat actor attempted to phish me using this tactic.👇 The technique is highly convincing because it involves a trust boundary violation in Telegram’s MiniApp SDK (affecting Android, Desktop, iOS, and Web versions). Telegram allows third-party code to use its trusted native UI through showPopup(), but it does so without clearly indicating the source to the user or providing safeguards against abuse. This constitutes a design weakness, as the triggered pop-up belongs to Telegram and can be used in an arbitrary manner. -The attacker misleads the user by leveraging Telegram’s own native UI component. -The popup is rendered outside the MiniApp iframe, within Telegram’s own UI layer. -The user perceives it as a legitimate warning from Telegram itself. -By placing a single button, the attacker can redirect the user to a phishing page. -Since the phishing page opens inside the Mini App, the phishing URL is not visibly exposed. After conducting detailed research, I simulated this attack and demonstrated it in the video below. Be cautious when opening Mini Apps in bots.

Very excited to announce that Flowsta, the authentication system made possible by Holochain, is feature complete and close to public release. Here's a video with a sneak peek at the dashboard that every Flowsta user gets access to. All user data on Flowsta is stored on Holochain. 1 public hApp (Holochain App) for public data like Agent ID, DID (W3C Decentralized ID), Display Name and Thumbnail. Each user has their own private hApp that encrypts all their private data, like password, email and usage meta data. Nobody can access this data without your password and/or recovery keys. It is mathematically impossible for Flowsta staff or anybody else to access this data without you explicitly granting access. This is game-changing. True decentralized censorship resistant authentication and data. All made possible by Holochain. Our next video will give a sneak peek into the Developer Dashboard for adding Flowsta to any Web app. Not just Holochain apps. AMA.. 🎉
