Buttigieg: "About $1,000 is what his tariffs cost the average American household last year. And maybe to him and his billionaire allies, the kinds of people who got most of his tax cuts, that's not a lot of money. But of course to most Americans, $1,000 is a lot of money. You can't be tricked about that."

$1,701. That's what Donald Trump's tariffs cost the average American household. The biggest tax hike of our lifetime — and it's hitting working people, small businesses, ranchers, and farmers the hardest.

Taylor: The average American family saved $1,600 a year from Donald Trump's tax cuts. Do you know what the average American family has spent because of his increase in prices? About $4,000 a year. Whatever tax cuts Donald Trump gave us, he wiped away with price increases, and now he's realizing what conservative economists have known for centuries. Tariffs are taxes. And he's having to walk it back.

The U.S. Supreme Court just reaffirmed that tariffs are under the authority of Congress, not the President. This is good news for American consumers, for whom these tariffs have been a real tax, costing them thousands of dollars per household.

Seven years ago, Donald Trump slashed the corporate tax rate, claiming the average household would see their income go up by $4,000. That never happened. Instead, the Trump Tax Scam helped billionaires and corporations line their pockets at the expense of the American people.
