I don’t know about MCD but in Mumbai it’s the contractor who collects the funds and pays the BMC. So obviously this driver / guy shooting the film doesn’t realise that payments don’t go directly into the MCD/ BMC accounts, it’s all outsourced now.

What scam MCD/Municipal authorities don't collect parking charges themselves. They auctioned and give contract to contractor. Contractor pays authority lump sump amount. Charge charges which goes to contractor account. Nothing scam in it.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but in every MCD parking I’ve used, the payment receipt never shows MCD as the beneficiary - it always shows the contractor’s name who has the parking contract. And if the contractor is issuing the parking slip, the beneficiary name shouldn’t really matter.

This parking contractor M/s Jagtar owns most of the parking contracts in Delhi. Full monopoly in parking contracts.

Not a scam per se ... just that he is collecting money in his personal account not MCD..

People who are arguing the contractor was right - Contractor should not link his personal account to a payment gateway, it should always be the company he has registered with. U get to park for money but He might cheat the authorities with fake data & earn that unclaimed money.

I never pay for parking at public spots, its mostly a scam. Just tell them nahi dera, ja police bula la and theyll let you go.
