NEW: 1-year-old boy fatally shot by police during shoplifting pursuit in Senatobia A 1-year-old boy was killed after a Senatobia police officer fired into the windshield of a fleeing vehicle during a shoplifting call on June 14, 2026. Police responded to a reported theft at a Walmart. Two women and the child got into a silver sedan and attempted to leave. When officers tried to block the vehicle, the driver allegedly steered toward one of them. An officer then opened fire into the windshield. The vehicle fled to a local hospital, where the child, identified as Kohen Kartier Wiley, was pronounced dead. The driver remains hospitalized in critical condition. The child’s mother was not injured. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and the family are demanding the release of body camera footage.
