New Siri in iOS 27…it actually works 🤯

Crazy to me people want this. It scanning every single thing in your phone, who you talk to, when you talk to them etc. Crazy invasion of privacy. You're sleep walking into oblivion.

It appears Siri has exited beta—surprising.

Totally local processing btw. People seem to forget most of it is search feature, it’s indexing your text information and the text interpretations of your imagery inputs (photos and videos), and it looks up what you ask, the processing demand comes for the reasoning to understand your inquiry (and that is also text or converted into text from speech). All I’m saying is, technically this is much faster done locally, if it weren’t, no one would want it. Your phone search already does this, no spying is all I’m saying.

Look at apple trying to keep there promises good to see the siri improvements!

They probably optimized some version of Google Gemma models to run on iPhone locally. Apple is betting on local AI and local data, a lot of people value their data, especially the data from iPhone. Our phones carry a huge amount of private data, I don’t want that stuff on OpenAI servers or any other servers. Apple make me pay 2k for an iPhone but please keep the option to run everything locally.
