This is so good. “Take courage.” Take courage. Now, that seems like kind of a weak response, doesn’t it? Maybe some kind of a pep talk. You probably have had people tell you in the midst of your worst fears, and anxieties, and disappointments, and distress, and trouble – and somebody says, “Take courage.” And sometimes you want to whack them, as if they don’t even understand the depth of your problem with such a superficial answer. What do you mean? It’s a lot more complicated than that. Buck up, buddy, you know? That’s not going to work. And there’s a reason that’s not going to work when you say it: because you have absolutely no power over the circumstances, right? It’s a nice gesture. Cheer up. But you have no power over the circumstances. But there is one who does. When Jesus says, “Take courage,” that’s a different issue. There’s quite a remarkable use of the word here. It’s one word. “Take courage,” or cheer up, is one word: tharseite. One word in the Greek. It’s a verb form, and it’s in the imperative. It’s a command. Okay? Listen to this. Every time that word is used, and it’s used many times in the gospels and the New Testament – every time that word is used in the New Testament, it is in the imperative. It is a command. Cheer up. Take courage. Now, listen to this. Every time it is used in the New Testament, it is spoken by Jesus. No one else ever says that in the New Testament. That is a whole different issue. If the Lord Jesus, who is in control of absolutely everything, says, “Cheer up,” that’s different. That’s completely different. This is not just a well-intentioned pep talk. On the other hand, this is an absolutely divine promise. The disciples are distressed, to put it mildly. They’re afflicted. They’re pressured. They don’t know how they’re going to survive without Christ. He’s all they’ve known for three years. And our Lord says to them: “Cheer up. I’m going to tell you three things that should bring you joy. One, you are loved by God. Two, you are in God’s everlasting care. Three, God has a promise for your future.” You have love you have faith, and you have hope. You are loved by God. You believe in God. You hope in God. That’s all you need – to be loved by God, to be entrusted into God’s eternal care, and to have Him promise you a glorious future is all you need. — John MacArthur

People are questioning why people from the Love Island universe will go and ‘act different’ on other shows
 the reasoning for this is simple in the UK and I can only talk from our perspective the audience are very sensitive and they like to ‘humble’ people. In the USA this is the norm for them the unfiltered, raw reality tv and that’s why maybe for someone from the UK will think they are being a whole different person but that’s not the case at all. The UK doesn’t give the same grace the US audience does, that’s why I say certain people from the UK will thrive more over in the US when it comes to reality tv because they simply have the personality for it. Why do you think Ekin Su has done that 👀? Because the UK audience is just to sensitive and tend to moan about any little thing unfortunately.

📜✹ “Foreign to Scripture? (Relics)” — apparently we’re doing a surprise Friday-night Peter’s Barque drop. This song has been a LONG time coming. Relics have been sitting in my song queue for ages. But then the internet spent the last few days losing its collective mind over the veneration of the relics of Saint Agatha. “Pagan.” “Idolatry.” “Morbid.” “Foreign to Scripture.” So
 I bumped this one WAY up the queue. And I’m dropping it now. On a Friday night. Because apparently that’s what we’re doing. 😂 The funny thing is, Scripture itself is remarkably comfortable with holy things getting very, very physical. Joseph makes Israel promise to carry his bones out of Egypt—and centuries later, Moses does. A dead man touches the bones of Elisha—and gets back up. People reach for the garment of Jesus and are healed. The sick are laid where Peter’s shadow might fall across them. Cloths that touched Saint Paul are carried to the sick—and God works miracles through them. And the Jewish world itself was far less squeamish about human remains than modern Western Christians often are. Around the time of Christ, families could return to tombs after decomposition, gather the bones of their dead, and place them in ossuaries. What feels “morbid” to modern American sensibilities is not therefore foreign to the biblical world. Then there’s the early Church. Saint Polycarp—a disciple of Saint John—was martyred around A.D. 155. The Christians gathered his bones, describing them as more precious than jewels and finer than gold, and preserved them in a suitable place where they could gather to commemorate his martyrdom. That’s not medieval Catholicism. That’s Christianity with barely enough room between it and the Apostles for the ink to dry. And here’s the deeper point: Christianity is an Incarnational religion. Mud on blind eyes. Water. Oil. Bread. Wine. Hands laid upon heads. A garment. A shadow. A handkerchief. Flesh and blood and dust and bone. There is no magic in marrow. Relics aren't lucky charms. Saints aren't little gods. God owes us no miracle because we touched the right object. But the God who created matter has never seemed particularly reluctant to use it. And the Word became flesh. So when someone tells me relics are “foreign to Scripture”

So, I asked real men in my life, my 3 brothers and close male friends, this exact question: What happens if a woman you’ve been with sleeps with your friend/ close aquainteance? “Every single answer was the same. A real “close friend/ aquainteance” never goes after a woman who’s been with you. Ever. Doesn’t matter if you’re still with her or not. That’s man code, they all say”. “if a man crosses that line, he’s not your friend anymore. Period. They all say! And the woman? Call it what you want, a hoe, H-O-E, or a whore who wanted to get back at you for rejecting her- but she showed exactly what she is” So watching people on X try to flip this on Drake is laughable- like he's the one who broke code. I upset the Orthobros on here when I posted that the Wilsons aren’t Christian. They said “how dare you declare whether or not someone is a Christian!” Here is my response (watch til the end for the most ironic part of all of this): Scripture itself tells us that it is OBVIOUS who is saved and that we can discern who is and who is not a child of God. “By this the children of God and the children of the devil are OBVIOUS: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother and sister.” 1 John 3:10 Yes, Christians will still continue to sin, as Romans 7 tell us. Sanctification is certainly messy, there’s no denying that. But someone who has been supernaturally made new by the Holy Spirit will have a real heart change. Regeneration is not an inconsequential experience. It will be obvious to people. The supernatural work of the Holy Spirit is a powerful one. Someone who is made a child of God will bear the family resemblance. No one can be born again and continue to comfortably stay in the mud with the pigs. They might occasionally still fall into the mud, they might still have dirt on their clothes even after they get up, but they will hate it when they do and will live in a humble manner before God crying “have mercy on me, a sinner.” They will pursue righteousness and have a deep deep love for others. And when they are confronted about their sin by others, they repent. So yes, we can look at someone living in a hateful unrighteous arrogant manner for years on end, even after being confronted about it, and determine that they are not of the Lord.

Sometimes the smallest answers say the most. When Biggie asked Goddessa in her diary session what she misses most in the outside world after 3 weeks in the house, she didn’t say fame or freedom or even the outside world. She said her music. Her family. Her friends. That’s it. The music she makes when no one is watching. The people who knew her before any of this. The friends she can just sit with and not have to explain herself to. For all the noise, the emotions, the strong personality we see every day, there’s still a girl in that house who just wants something familiar. Someone who wants to hear a voice she already knows. Someone who wants to make music again. Someone who wants to laugh with the people who get her without trying. She is still that girl. She’s in sober living and will have to leave because she can’t afford to stay there anymore. Her big idea is still “somebody lift me.” That’s not a woman who hit hard times. That’s a woman who looks at people with a normal life and decides the difference is that they got carried. She doesn’t talk like someone trying to stay housed. She talks like someone already rehearsing the bench. No family. Nobody cares. Life is only suffering. It will only ever be suffering. She said that while she still had a bed. That’s the tell. The roof isn’t the problem. Her refusal to become the kind of person who keeps one is. Pay the rent for her. Get her another program. Soften the landing. She’ll be right back in this exact spot. Not because the world is greedy. Because she has no intention of climbing, only of being retrieved.

 while another officer is trying to open the door from the other side. No explanation, or clear threat
 Just escalation. Then, someone inside says, “I’m a U.S. citizen
 you pointed a gun at me.” And that’s the moment everything changes. Instead of pulling back
 instead of correcting
 instead of even acknowledging it
 The ICE agent snaps. “I don’t give a shit who you are, I don’t know you.” And then he immediately escalates further
 raises the metal bar
 and starts hitting the window
 doubling down on force. A person says you pointed a gun at them
 and your response is not to de-escalate
 It’s to get MORE aggressive. That’s retaliation. They call them “non-compliant”
