Similar to patience, embrace mistakes - better to try and fail (learn from it) than have not tried at all. Teachers - make classrooms a safe space for pupils to be brave, take risks and explore ideas.

Thank you! Will def share with my students. I think I’ll even post on the board: “what is the difference between these 2 statements: I don’t understand this VS. I don’t understand this yet” The mindset & attitudes students bring into the classroom are keys to their success!

In addition to taking active notes: Re-write summarize your notes every day and every week from class and from the text book. I got that from the book "What Smart Students Know" which helped me through much of my Junior and Senior year.

pre-3: Do the "homework." Sure, it's not for a grade, but that's good: The homework is where YOU are learning to DO it. You can mess up 1000 times and you learn from that experience without it lowering your grade. Stuck? Struggling? Take your *specific* questions to office hours.
