I love this approach! As a student years ago, I was reprimanded for finding answers to problems the "wrong way" even though they were correct. At the time it took all the fun and creativity away.

I like this video because this idea scales up! If you're doing programming or numerics, you should know when to use a "standard" algorithm versus a more specific procedure based on what type of problem you have
