Yes 😁 This is also a form of obfuscation, but it is a very generic definition. The main goal of this project is to produce specific unoptimized instruction sequences that are commonly generated by compiler toolchains, hence the name de-optimizer.

B-tree database lookups are way slower without a memory cache in place + a good replacement policy for OLTP. MySQL uses a segmented LRU whereas Postgres uses a clock-sweep algorithm. Both good choices for different reasons.
