Gujarat Cyber Centre of Excellence (Cyber Centre of Excellence) team arrested a key mastermind of a major 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 from Assam. ◾ Investigation linked 1,753 bank accounts with 1,042 cybercrime cases involving 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 ₹𝟭,𝟭𝟳𝟯 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗿𝗲. ◾After reaching the accused, CCoE also 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝟭𝟬 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 running across different states. ◾ Victims were stopped from transferring more money to the fraudsters. In 3 Gujarat cases, CCoE teams reached the victims’ homes for immediate intervention. ◾ Some victims had already broken their FDs and were preparing to sell shops/properties to arrange money for the fraudsters. ◾ Timely intervention saved victims from transferring huge amounts of money and helped disrupt a large cyber fraud network. A breakthrough that stopped the fraud at both ends, the mastermind was arrested, while 10 live Digital Arrests were stopped in real time.
