I rode crotch rockets for a couple of decades. I’ve had people act like this Karen, yelling at me to “slow down,” only to look down and see I’m well within the speed limit, like 15 to 20 mph. Some people can’t judge speed very well and don’t understand motorcycles at all. It looks like Ritchson is not an experienced biker, but it sure seemed like he was just riding around his affluent residential area, with very few cars on the street, probably just leading the two kids around, staying close to home, staying in familiar territory, and riding safely on a clear spring day. One does not expect a person in the street to deliberately stay in the street. The Karen put Ritchson and the kids at great risk, all in the name of protecting neighborhood kids. They could have all piled up. The fact that the Karen didn’t dial it back after causing an accident is remarkable. How does one not see that they’ve gone too far at that point? It was foolish enough to step out in front of the motorcyclists. It was psychotic to continue harassing the cyclist you just caused to dump his bike. I’m not a fan of Ritchson’s politics, but I think he was fairly restrained given the circumstances. And let’s be real here. He pulled his punches.
