This is the PDP-11/83 I've been working on... it's got a lot of pretty das blinkenlights! It's running 211BSD UNIX that I custom compiled to make it all work. I had to tweak the kernel's idle loop to get the display panel to work, as this setup uses fast PMI (private memory interface) between the RAM and CPU, so the panel can't see it happen unless you cheat a little! The dual floppy unit is wild... a single stepper motor moves the heads on BOTH drives at the same time, so they're like conjoined drives. The bus spans three chassis, which are the three grey boxes. So unlike a PC, you can just "add most slots" and keep going to your heart's content!

Remember the Thinking Machines CM5 in the background of Jurassic Park? I wanted to copy the CM5 LED effect for my VAX, so I reached out to one of the original designers, Tamiko. He said that Thinking Machines' president, Sheryl Handler, had asked if the CM lights could be made to blink in a "Random and Pleasing manner". Apparently, Don Aronson wrote the R&P effect for the CM-2, but I'm still waiting to hear back from him! In the meantime, I did my best take based on what you see in the movie...

I’ve been EXTREMELY quiet about this decision and the adverse effects that it has caused me simply because I didn’t want to scare anyone out of making their own decision on receiving the vax.. With all this being said, I made the decision to get my vax before I left Las Vegas to move back to my home state of North Carolina because I wanted to play it safe and make sure those around me weren’t in harms way. I also do have underlying autoimmune issues which I have openly talked about for a while now. I’m not ashamed of why I received the vax because I know my heart was in a good place and my intentions were pure..and yet here I am struggling with adverse side effects from this life changing decision. Doctors have been pretty lost on what exactly is going on..running multiple tests, medical imaging and neurological exams coming back with no answers.. Here’s just a glimpse of what I’ve been dealing with- Symptoms that come and go: Dystonia Difficulty walking and weakness within the legs Dull aching & sharp shooting pains within the legs Vertigo Heart palpitations Lack of sensation throughout the body Cold sensation in the legs Pain behind the eyes Tremor in right hand Symptoms that are 24/7: Short term memory loss Trouble forming sentences Feeling out of body Depth perception is off Visual Changes Severe brain fog I am not sharing this post to scare anyone out of making their own decision, however I do believe that people must know exactly what the risks are. These stories shouldn’t be so hidden on social media platforms or the news and I’m done being so quiet about this.. If there is anyone out there that is experiencing something similar don’t be afraid to let your voice be heard. Please share!!! I can use all the insight and help I can get right now

I think #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts left a big play on the field here to A.J. Brown in the first half. Brown motions to align on the same side as DeVonta Smith, and Smith clears out while Brown runs a deep in-breaker. Hurts seems to look at Brown but turns down the throw and leaves the pocket. Could have even thrown to Jahan Dotson on the corner route at the bottom of the screen.

Finally got to drive on the Atal Setu the previous weekend. A fine piece of engineering that makes you feel like you’re a hovercraft gliding on water. It was during daytime that I both traveled to and returned from Pune so I couldn’t experience the magnificent view at dusk as is visible in the viral pic on the right. But will do that as well—not too long from now…

So my body journey has been the extreme on both sides of the spectrum. I was overweight, 253, lost weight naturally and got to a nice size. Then I got sick, lost a tremendous amount of weight and almost died and had to work on gaining weight. It’s been a roller coaster! But I’m here🤗 2010 vs 2017 THEN 2020 vs 2026

When I play arcade games at home, I could just set them to free play, but I actually prefer inserting coins myself. The sound of the coin rolling in and the credit counter going up is a huge part of the experience for me. It really brings back the feeling of being in an arcade back then. That’s why I even use an old cigarette ashtray as a coin holder. At first, I bought a chair that looked similar to an arcade stool, but the height felt strangely uncomfortable. So I ended up ordering actual Japanese arcade stools from a company in Japan, and the height is just perfect👌 Once you own an arcade cabinet, collecting little accessories like that becomes part of the fun too. And when you hang game posters on the wall, the whole atmosphere becomes incredible😆
