In the name of religion, this is how easily we cheat ourselves. As per Shastras, only your purohit can apply such tilaks n the receiver has to seek blessings by touching feet of the person applying it. This type of tilak holds no significance apart from show off in name of Dharma

In Gujarati …when you voluntarily get cheated/fleeced, they say “Aje Chandalo Karyo” OR Tilak costed this much ……..incidentally, when marriage gifts costs far more than the food served, same term is used ….sarcasm runs deep in Gujaratis !!

If you are interested, you will find out that there are different kinds of tilaks for devotees of Ram, Shiva and other gods. They use their fingers and some simple tools to design tilaks on foreheads, with red and yellow powders.

These practices and people damages perception of religion. They want to do it then should not take money
