Did Muslims participate in the sub Saharan slave trade? And Did you know that in Islam, freeing a slave is considered an act of worship? When comparing Muslim and Christian histories of slavery, we should distinguish between the actions of people and the teachings of their religion. Muslims participated in the trans-Saharan slave trade, but slavery was never sanctioned as a religious command to enslave people. Islam instead encouraged and rewarded the freeing of slaves. The Atlantic slave trade, on the other hand, was defended and justified by the head of Christianity, Christian authorities and institutions. History should be discussed honestly—and religious teachings should be distinguished from the actions of those who claim to follow them.

The city that once vowed to “Never Forget” has been replaced by people who were never even here when 9/11 happened. Rep. Congressman Andy Ogles pointed out that it’s not just immigration, but also liberal women lining up behind a man whose culture doesn’t even respect them. New York City didn’t move on from 9/11. It let the same ideology that attacked it infiltrate and take over from within.
