I love using GLM 5.2 for web app iteration. My workflow: generate 6 variations, then pick the best one and continue iterating on it. I built Recast to make this even easier. Give it a prompt, get 6 variations, download the code for your favorite version, then continue iterating in your own coding agent. GLM 5.2 works really well for this use case since it's fast, cheap, and great at design. On average, you can make 3-6 landing pages with GLM 5.2 for every one you can generate with Opus 4.8. And the design variety of the GLM landing pages helps a lot with trying to think through what style you want to go with. Recast is launching soon (as a web app + skill).

Tried recreating Fall Guys using the exact same prompt with Claude Opus 5.0 (Claude Code) and Kimi K3 (Kimi CLI). Kimi K3 nailed the gameplay out of the box. Physics, movement, and the overall feel were surprisingly solid Opus 5.0 had a shinier UI, but movement was broken, it kept adding unnecessary visual effects, lagged during gameplay, and spent most of its time reiterating instead of converging Runtime and cost : - Kimi K3: ~9 min, ~$4.4 - Opus 5.0: ~17 min (still iterating), ~$13+ That's roughly 2× the time and 3× the cost, yet Kimi produced the more playable result with the exact same prompt.

I couldn't believe the results of this benchmarking test. I blind-tested 6 frontier models — Sonnet 5, Opus 4.8, Fable 5, GPT 5.5, GLM 5.2, and Kimi 2.5 — on knowledge work, not engineering. Writing. Analysis. Design. Vibe coding. Subagent simulations. The stuff we actually do all day. Same prompts, each model running its own subagent, every output graded blind before the labels were revealed. The results: → GLM 5.2 (the dirt-cheap open-source model from China) took first → Sonnet 5 took second, beating Fable 5 for knowledge work → Opus 4.8 got whooped Then I had Composer 2.5 judge every output independently — and it picked Fable 5 almost across the board. Qwen 3.8 Max beat Fable 5 at building 3D physics scenes for 7x cheaper! We gave two models the same task. Build three self-contained 3D scenes, each one HTML file with real physics that runs itself. Prompts: - A marble machine that lifts marbles up a wheel and drops them on a loop - A car factory assembly line - A sawmill cutting logs into planks Outputs: Qwen 3.8 Max: 46.6K tokens, $0.28 Fable 5: 38.7K tokens, $1.93 Qwen worked much harder on the details. Its textures and shadows look real. Fable 5 built a fast prototype that works and left it there. In the marble machine, Fable's marbles show up from nowhere at the top of the wheel. In Qwen's, you can see them go up. On the car line, Qwen's cars look much better and more real. Fable's sawmill is very strange. The saw looks wrong, and the log goes right through a beam before the saw cuts it. Atomic Chat will have day zero support to run Qwen 3.8 Max locally!
