Watch this India Today report and read the most damning sections of the Calcutta High Court-appointed three-member committee report on the Murshidabad riots. Most Shocking Findings 1.All the attacks were carried out on Friday, April 11th, from 2 PM onwards, allegedly under instructions from local councillor Mehbub Alam. The police and administration remained inactive. 2.Mehbub Alam reportedly arrived at the scene with the miscreants and personally oversaw the destruction of homes. 3.The local MLA is said to have supervised the vandalism to ensure it was being executed as intended. After observing the destruction alongside the attackers, he left the scene. 4.A man named Amirul Islam allegedly identified houses that had not yet been targeted and directed the miscreants to those locations, which were then set ablaze. Additional Details of the Incident 1.Bhadu Mondal stated that on Friday, April 11th, around 4 PM, their shops and market stalls were looted. The following day, around noon, their house was set on fire. (What was the state police doing during this time?) 2.A total of 113 houses were damaged. Even after fleeing to Malda for safety, victims were forcibly brought back by the police.
