The Second Amendment doesn’t create a right to arms. It recognizes and protects a pre-existing natural right of self-defense that the Founders drew from Locke and Blackstone. The Bible never mentions firearms because they hadn’t been invented, but it does recognize the duty to preserve innocent life.
