@emc_mcdonald Flat tax no deductions & no loopholes this will make it easy. Simple 20% for all brackets , corporation& churches. Only one exception the poor are not taxed

@ElizabethODr Ms. Katie, I'm not Big Tax Prep. I'm Small Tax Prep. I don't have an issue w/ the @irs setting up an online Direct File system, however, when the systems shuts down or folks make an error and the IRS holds their refund, they will come to Small Tax Prep (me) to fix and we can't.

END THE CORRUPTION TAX: After 8 years of Laissez-faire Lamont, public trust in our state government is at an all-time low. Your services are worse, your taxes are higher, and political insiders are getting rich at your expense. Connecticut taxpayers work hard for their money. They deserve to know that their government is spending it responsibly — not handing out sweetheart deals, rewarding political allies, or hiding behind bureaucratic loopholes. As governor, I will pass historic anti-corruption reforms to make sure every dollar is spent with oversight and accountability and that we end the corruption tax for good.

To provide sufficient time for verification and validation of returns, I propose revisions to the timelines for filing individual tax returns. Under the proposal, taxpayers with nil returns will be required to file within one month after the end of the year of income. Taxpayers whose income is fully taxed at source will file within 4 months after the end of the year of income. All other taxpayers are required to file their returns by the 30th of June; all businesses will continue to file their returns by the 30th of June

“Tax the rich” is a scam because the rich don’t actually make money the same way most people do, this guy correctly says. Rich people work with rules already in the system in order to be able to legally declare little to no income. The real answer isn’t increasing taxes it’s lowering government spending. I realize this guy comes off as elitist and douchey, but he makes a lot of valid points. And what he says at the end about who actually ends up shouldering the tax burden is spot on. Government is supposed to work for us. Not vice versa. We should relentlessly demand efficiency. Whenever government tries to increase spending and taxes, that’s when you know it’s failing.
