Here is a look inside one of the new NextGen Acela trains. Amtrak says upgrades include free 5G Wi-Fi, plus you no longer have to reach over someone to plug something in if you have an aisle seat. There are plugs and USB ports in between each set of seats.

Americans are speaking out about how insane the pieces have become to ride the Amtrak train This woman wants to go from DC to New York for the holidays, she’s booking 4 months in advance to get a deal. The price is still $644… to ride the train.. To fly Delta it would only be $270 and she could take Uber Black to and from the airport and it would still be cheaper than riding the train “I love Trains and public transportation and taking the Amtrak. But that is unbelievable that it is over $600 to take the train and it is less than half of that to fly. So Amtrak needs to get it together 'cause that is ridiculous. Ridiculous.” Keep in mind, Amtrak is public transportation. the U.S. government is its controlling majority shareholder Amtrak gets roughly $2.4 billion per year in funding and they are still charging this much for tickets
