ngl my first thought when audra mcdonald started singing rose’s turn was “kurt sang this on glee”

If I’m being honest, I prefer Kurt’s versions of both songs sung tonight by Nicole and Audra. Chris’s talent was off the charts in Glee.

I know that Audra is starring in Gypsy this year, but I am not familiar with the show or its music. However, as she was singing, I suddenly said, “oh wait, I *do* know this!” I now realize that Glee is the reason I recognized it.

What makes it even cooler is that Audra McDonald is also from Fresno and got started performing in Good Company Players like Chris did!

and As If We Never Said Goodbye also was sung by Kurt (my favorite song kurt has ever sung)

As someone who didn't have access to the theatre growing up, I have Glee to thank for introducing me to so many musicals, musicians and genres of music.

That’s probably where she got the idea to sing it for the awards.

Kurt’s version of Rose’s Turn was my only Gypsy reference point until this year 😬
